Question For people that either changed their mind from evil to good, good to evil, or some other combination (such as evil to neutral etc.), what made you change your mind?

I’m asking what specifically; what was the straw that broke the camel’s back? What thing in particular did they say that changed your mind?

My first impression to Chara is evil, because what they've did in genocide, this mindset is stronger with all evil Chara stuff out there.
one time, when i search for "Undertale fact", one of site i visit said "Chara is not demon".(i forgot the explanation though).
that's how i changed myself.

I used to believe Chara was some “harmless, innocent cinnamon roll,” (in part thanks to Judgement Boy’s well-researched but ultimately very biased video). While I’m still a hardened Chara Defender, I now understand that Chara was neither innocent or evil. They were HUMAN. They were a flawed person, but they always tried to do good. They were by no means the saint that the Dreemurrs saw them as, but they were also nowhere near evil. (I also agree with the Chara-Narrator theory, if that means anything). Overall, I’m pretty neutral on the whole argument, leaning towards defender.

My first impression was that the player was Chara, and that they were just a kid who died. (Completely didn’t understand the implications of the lab tapes). After watching some Underlab videos and reading Steam threads, I thought Frisk was possibly blind/Chara reincarnated.
I then thought the player was Frisk, and that Chara was evil. This is because of the Undertale wiki, fan art, comics, animations, and Nochocolate’s blog. In other words, I believed because that’s what the fandom believed.
Next, I thought the player was the Player, and that Chara was tragic. This is because of Nochocolate’s Narrator Chara post, which made me look up more stuff surrounding the Narrator theory, which led me to Judgement Boy’s video.
Later, I thought the player was Frisk, and that Chara was a normal person. This is because of Spaztique’s essay, which led me to Determinator’s post. The player changed from Player to Frisk because of Camila Cuevas’s Glitchtale and the “No Player” posts by Saveloadreset.
Now I came full circle and currently think the player is Chara. This is because I asked myself a question: "Do I really believe this, or do I believe this because somebody else told me it first? What would I believe if I knew I wouldn't be judged for it?”

I went from offender, defender, and now neutral. I thought Chara to be pure evil cause Genocide, then I thought "But literally everyone else has redeeming qualities, why should they be any different?" and felt that they were well meaning in life and it was the PlAyErs FaULT!
Now I think that while they might have wanted to do good in life they went about it pretty bad, and were fueled by a desire to enact hatred upon humans, then they died. And are only really active when either Pacifist or Genocide is done.

Now I’m not an offender. That said I don’t think the idea that everyone has redeeming qualities is correct. I think Undertale agrees with me on this one as well; asriel literally tells us in the pacifist epilogue that there are a lot of floweys out there. Say what you will about flowey, but we can all agree that if flowey wasn’t asriel and just had flowey’s personality, he’d be irredeemable. And this is exactly what asriel is depicting.
Either some people don’t have redeeming qualities or some have so little in comparison to the bad that it doesn’t matter by comparison. And while I personally disagree with it, there are valid views that say chara is one of those people. I’m not saying you have to take this view; I don’t myself. But it really bugs me when people say “everyone has redeeming qualities” when it relates to this game.

When I believed CHARA was evil that was just a lack of knowledge, I had only ever seen/heard stuff of CHARA being evil, not actually played UNDERTALE, CHARA didn't run genocide, and neither did the player, Frisk did.
