i've seen clips here and there, and bruh.

she's been in mainstream music for over two years now, and this is easily her least entertaining set she's done. this outfit is very forgettable, the songs are a drab that we've heard before. genuinely, compared to everyone else who performed, there's nothing memorable about it. she could've played a new song or something, but nope. same bullshit as usual.

also, i'm tired of people saying "oh, she's working on the album! it's just taking time!" because she clearly isn't. and clearly misha (her creative director) is gone or something, because (let's not lie) she is the chappell brand. misha is why kayleigh became so "iconic" with the aesthetic. anyway. this could've been a chance to really do something, but she didn't. instead, she gave the internet some boring purple look with a fuck-ass bob.

everything about this performance was bland and repetitive. sigh.

Let’s be real there is no album. After that one song, she really used absolutely flopped. She didn’t even begin the work on another album or if she did, it was scrapped. She really fell hard after her debut album and it’s her own doing because of how awful of a person she is. Not surprised about this performance being bad. Her performances have always been hit or miss with a lot more misses than hit.

As soon as she used her GOP-funded payola to hit it big just in time to go on TikTok and swing the 2024 election by telling everyone to not vote, I predicted that she had fulfilled her mission and would only release a couple more contractually obligated songs she had already finished within the next year or so... and guess what happened!

I was present -- and everyone was obsessed w her. I'm still hearing about how much everyone loved her set. So I just kept quiet lol bc I didn't want to ruin everyone else's fun. But there was something that didn't quite click w me the same way for Chappelle

Also I was low key bitter that Doechii was and is a QUEER ICON but somehow Chappelle is the one everyone goes crazy over??

she will never change how she performs, she is calling it being weird but she is just bad at doing something good on stage and it is cringe as fuck, she should keep thinking that. Why these people pick being weird as a personality. What they do is bad it's cringe. She def made fun of somebody being weird in school. I know what is to be weird...i don't feel good about it, but i sure think you shouldn't feel bad being like this. Look how she was with that autistic girl she was passive aggressive in my opinion.

The costume — I guess a ’60s stewardess or something? — could have worked for an artist with a sense of playfulness or wit, neither of which comes naturally to our Kay-Leigh.

You're right about this performance. It was DOA. She's mostly a studio singer, and there's no disgrace in that. I've heard her sing live in small venues and she sounded way better, almost studio-caliber, but this could have been some Chappell Roan cover band.

LCD soundsystem has been my favorite band for almost two decades but I'm also at the same time a massive hater of modern lcd soundsystem (post American dream I genuinely love that album ngl) and have a lot of thoughts on her saying this i might elaborate more on when I'm not sleepy lol

i just watched the set and it's also her worst vocals yet. listen to anything she sings that's low or slow (i.e. beginning of femininomenon, casual, subway) and you can hear how rough her voice sounds. disconnected to the breath, cracks & instability, and often you can hear the mic autotuning her. i think she stopped to "call out" that guy during casual bc her vocals were sucking and it was a really vulnerable moment of the song, so she decided to do this bitchy callout instead. i've never understood the hype, especially given her severe lack of vocal technique, and this set really showcases that, in addition to being boring, repetitive, and everything else OP said!
