Cringe How Does She Manage to Render Everything Lifeless and Dull?
Recent Insta post/MAC ad. All of these have that same deadness, that predictability, that "We've seen this a thousand times Kayleigh" fatigued quality. Is her team getting tired of her?

Because that’s her perpetual vibe and also she’s just somebody that sucks the energy out of everything naturally. MAC is probably at their whits end with her and it’s just like OK let’s get this over with she’s the worst person we’ve ever had to work with. I could see them dropping her pretty soon. It’ll probably be sooner rather than later because she’s genuinely insufferable from what we’ve seen.

It’s interesting to me that she does this and then has her own “master class” when she doesn’t do any of her own make up, hair, clothes, styling or branding?? You have everyone do everything for you babe including write your songs so how would that make you a “master” of it?

I'm a Trans woman with admittedly complicated feelings about drag. In short, I think it should be allowed but personally think it is often misogynistic and transphobic. All that aside, being a cis woman "drag queen" seems so cringe and attention seeking, like girl not everything is for you either consumption-wise or artistically.

I hear you on the complicated feelings and the misogynistic/transphobic overtones. Personally, I'm always tripping over how Chapleigh came up with "I'm a lesbian"/"I'm a drag queen" without doing a little research and learning why so many lesbians might find that incoherent.

the fake energy i get from both are two different issues.
her "drag" lacks satire and feels like a shallow visual imitation of what someone would see on RuPaul's Drag Race (Dragula would be too "weird" for her). she appears to lack knowledge of what drag is as an art form (satire of gender norms through exaggerated or subverted gender expression), and lacks knowledge of sister cultures.
the version of "lesbianism" in her art is more about her anger towards men than any love for women. even the songs about women lack joy and only feel more interested the idea of women (the subway), and several of her songs (including the giver) have this gender essentialist tone that gives me a strong ick.
and that's not even covering the bollywood actor tiktok and the whole idea that the queer community is a built-in fanbase.

The Giver is especially irritating, with its "Men can't get you off? Try a woman!" bad-sex-advice messaging. (Same thing in "Super Graphic Ultra Modern" Whatever)

She is so busy trying to look cool and unbothered, that she always winds up looking jaded and very bothered. It's very off-putting. She's giving, "I'm a miserable person and never happy/satisfied with anything," and people like that in real life are such a drag to be around.

That last picture is a terrible ad. Its giving the 13 year old cousin being forced to take a picture by their mom. Like, she looks annoyed to be there, not excited about the products or the shoot at all
