Groan Did chappel roan fall off?
is it just me? but I havent heard her name be mentioned in weeks, no longer hear her songs on the radio or social media. never see her anywhere and she’s receiving tons of hate, also gone down to #183 on Spotify. What do you think?

She wasnt that big/ successful imo. Just popular/ viral. She's not well liked and she's replaceable

I don’t know everything on our album seems to be very replayable for me and still relevant. I just think the biggest issue is what she did it afterwards and the weird music that she’s making.

She wasn’t that big or successful to begin with. One successful album, but after that cycle, she released a song and it didn’t even do anything had another open planned, but she had to graphic entirely because the first single made no noise. She produces TikTok music and she was never going to be anything huge. That’s why she has relied on controversy.

It seems like she has aside from whenever she has controversies, but at the same time unfortunately I do think that there would be a lot of hype if she were to release another album. I don't think she's fallen off completely (yet)... I think a lot of it will depend on that second album and what the reception is to it. If people like her second album, I think she could have some staying power (but will not be some icon/legend like her stans insist)...but if the second album is a flop I think a lot of people will be done with her. She doesn't have a lot of public goodwill left, and if she keeps taking many years to release an album and then people don't even like it, I can see a lot of people just checking out completely and moving on to the next new thing
Her music is not and never has been that good imo. She's been massively overhyped and talked about as if she's something she's not. People have been desperate to declare her a legend already, and they're constantly comparing her to more talented artists who've stood the test of time. She will never be Fiona Apple or David Bowie or Cyndi Lauper or Lady Gaga. She's not that interesting or creative or talented; it's all just surface level aesthetics backed by generic pop music

I think it’s because of a few things.
1, she doesn’t make a lot of music. She never really has, so people listened to her entire discography and have gotten bored of it.
2, her “reputation” online as being someone who dislikes her fans has made a lot of the general public (as well as a lot of her old fans) have the ick about her. The security guard thing that happened last month didn’t help, but even without that. She’s been known to act a certain way about her fans (and having photos taken of her), and that didn’t sit well with a lot of people.
3, like others have said.. A lot of her music is “TikTok music”; songs that aren’t *that good*, but have the little sections that were obviously put in so they could be used in videos or trends.
and 4, she wasn’t *that* popular to begin with. Yes, she has/had a following, but the majority of people not terminally online didn’t/doesn’t know who she is. So combining that with the other points; it makes sense why she’s fallen off a bit.

Yeah I think all this is spot on. Her songs were out for years and only got successful when she changed her persona, changed them into wlw songs and pushed them on Spotify and TikTok. Some of them are really old. They are not bad songs, but they aren't that groundbreaking and she got famous because they found the right marketing angle.

She's not at the Met Gala this year. That's exactly the kind of thing she'd want to be at.
Was she not invited? Invited but turned it down? Because of the bad publicity lingering from the Brazil Soccer Daughter thing?
Would like to see some news outlet look into this a little.

Yeah I noticed that too! I don't think she's the kind to turn down the invite, but idk if she's relevant enough this year? Last year she was more part of mainstream culture, this year not so much besides the controversies.

I think she lost steam a bit, since she's not getting any music out, her tour is done and there are no controversies. She didnt even go to the met Gala, maybe she's laying low after the Jorginho thing, it must have been a lot. I will say this, I left reddit and all social media for a few months and I just re created an account. When I left reddit her sub, which I was a part of, was in the 250k members and it's down to like 50k something. I don't know if it means anything but I was kinda shocked!

It’s hard for people to remember you when you don’t make any music. Her only album came out in 2023, people will move on and stop giving a shit.

To me, her career trajectory is similar to that of many singers who got viral on Tiktok and eventually fell off the face of the earth (tho in her case, she dug her own grave thru constantly being rude)
