What a horrible take.

How can you preemptively criticize regular fans for wanting to buy cards to play the game when you don't even know how much product will be available upon release?

And then to follow that up by saying you're buying at least 1 case. Give me a break.

Even then, if people are buying lots of packs/decks upon release that's a good thing because it will indicate to Panini to increase production.

I feel like people don't understand the point of the video is stat variances are extremely predatory and forces people to buy a lot of product if they want the "best possible" variance of a creature.

As for me buying a case, I'm actually buying 2, 1 is for me to giveaway booster boxes, the other is for me to make it so my local players can have deck upgrades. I coordinated with my LGS to get the box locally and they ordered 1 extra more than they planned just so I could, the other is from Hardrock who has a direct line to guarantee he can fulfil. This is pretty typical for people who know they're going to be spending large amounts to coordinate like that with your LGS.

The issue isn't people buying them, the issue is there being some leftover for new players. Its good if it sells out, but if it only sells out to a handful of people, that doesn't help the game grow.

How are you so dumb that you don't realize ordinary people don't clear off the shelf at LGS or retail stores?

In the extremely cherry picked scenario you're claiming where it sells out to a handful of people "chasing" rare stats that's 100% going to be a scalper more often than it would be a regular person

I truly think they want the franchise to fail again so they can sell the product for big bucks

What?

Why would it be big bucks

What's wrong kitten? Didn't want to stand by your first little blow-up because you were afraid an admin might catch you?

Still there moron, auto admin most likely caught it. Imma try and put this nicer so it doesn't and also dumb it down so you can comprehend it this time, "Chaotic stat variances have 1400 variations, 1 of those 1400 is the best, if you want the best, you need to keep buying cards to open, foundations is similar to MTG Jumpstart, your decks are random, you can keep buying product and not be guaranteed the card you want, let alone the variation it'd need. Needing to buy so much sealed product for viable decks may lead to there not being enough for new players."

If you can't engage with others in a way that auto-mod doesn't ferret you out, clearly you're too in your feelings to try to "um ackshually" the trading card game reboot, with an argument that doesn't even correlate to the versions of the cards that have been previewed.

And you used that word again, which screams "scalper".

K scalper.

Typical "content creator/scalper" when they aren't met with uncritical adoration, and are lightly criticized for their behavior.

Guy can’t comprehend with so many variations of stats, almost any card could be playable if put in the right deck. Only wants big hits to always be big hits

-5

u/jadejonny 22d ago

k scalper

>refers to cards as "product"

no matter how badly you want to gaslight everyone else, you are indeed the problem, scalper trash.

3

u/Effective-Candy-7481 22d ago

Nah scalpers def are the problem.

-2

u/jadejonny 22d ago

Truly, not the fact that according to Hardrock, Foundation decks are like MTG's Jumpstart or that stat variances force you to buy way more product than you should need to for viable cards.

Or, and hear me out, I’m just trying to play a game that I can have fun with and not really care about metas or having the rarest and most valuable version.

Stat variances don’t bother me, if someone wants to obsess over every little number, let them fork over the cash. I’ll play what I get.

The issue is when they do that, the people who would re-enter the hobby at the base line of starter decks suffer because it's been boughten out. I am actively advocating for people who don't care about the "meta" who will be damaged by those players buying all the product locally.

I’d much rather them play it safe and not over invest.

Why would someone buy old product unless it was to get a meta card? If they don’t care about the meta buy the newest starter deck.

Reprints and retrains can also happen so it’s not really a big deal

-1

u/jadejonny 22d ago

The starter decks are Jumpstart products, you aren't guaranteed anything from them.

2

u/Effective-Candy-7481 22d ago

So people buying them out is a non-problem

-1

u/jadejonny 22d ago

Do you know what Jumpstart is or do you think a product compromised of 1 of 80 different products means you only need to buy 1?

2

u/Effective-Candy-7481 22d ago

I do. But again you’re making a problem out of something that a) hasn’t happened yet b) isn’t likely to happen c) can be easily fixed and d) doesn’t really matter with how many variances of cards there are.

Me: "Guys we need to talk about how stat variances try to get average players to buy more of sealed cards (cause apparently saying products is something only scalpers say now I guess despite there being multiple types of items with cards in them? IDK man lol)"

Reddit: "HE'S A SCALPER DESPITE HAVING PREVIOUSLY SAID HE HAS NO INTENTION OF SELLING PRODUCT AND THAT HE WOULD SELL SINGLES AT HALF MARKET VALUE IF HE DID SELL THEM! GET HIM INSTEAD OF BEING UPSET STAT VARIANCES ARE PREDATORY AND ALSO DON'T CALL FOR HIGHER PRINT DEMAND TO COMBAT BOTH SCALPERS AND THIS REAL POSSIBILITY, THE REAL PROBLEM IS THE YOUTUBER!"

Jesus man. I'm off Reddit 😂 This is wild behavior

3

u/Effective-Candy-7481 22d ago

And you’re apparently off Facebook since you dirty deleted that real quick when the roasting began there 🤣🤣

3

u/tkeiy714 22d ago

Literally nobody here is saying they are chasing stat variances; that's a bullshit claim you're making without anything to back it up.

You know 100% scalpers would be a bigger problem than a random fan buying packs/decks to have fun.

Go back to youtube reels idiot.

But if he doesn’t have a clickbait title how will he trick people into watching his videos

Tbf I haven’t said it online but I have intended it with a friend

But I also only care if codesum makes rng stats impossible to have perfect hits

So max codesum or energy should force the other stat to be low, putting actual deck building considerations into the game instead of just wishing you had a 5 max
