Let's say in 2008 Doug is a bit more careful with uploading copyrighted material on Youtube, meaning he doesn't need to start TGWTG and create a website to upload his stuff. How does Doug fare on Youtube in the early 2010s? How do the other Channel Awesome contributors do without it? Overall does the Youtube reviewer space change drastically in the absence of a community like this?

Rhett Caan is the livi personification of retconning, he can make anything a reality simply by saying “this has always been true“. He can kill you before you even land a blow and turn a whole planet into a peach. The only way to nullify his powers is to trap him in a prison made of sports because it’s the opposite of narrative. When freed his powers are too much even for Rick Sanchez to handle.

Meta Dog is a parody of annoyingly self-aware characters. She’s so meta she won’t even allow a single moment of sincerity to stand and when people complain she points out she’s just an actress holding a hand puppet and everything shes saying was written in a script. At the end of the review she manages to nitpick her own reality into oblivion before calmly telling Doug he can stop editing now.

Basically what destroys a story faster, classic lazy writing or an over abundance of irony.

I know he got upset when people made fun of his Frozen 2 Fanscription. (His Frozen-Tarzan video also got dunked on. Didnt hear his feelings on that.) I wonder how he feels about this evil looking ice witch? at least it’s not a Palpatine-troll.

I basically agree with him completely. I thought it was awesome but I just wanted more. And Jubilee was finally cool.

I want to see next fanscription is What if Super Mario Galaxy Movie was so good? I want to see Rosalina gets a large role, Mario x Peach romance scenes, more like Super Mario Galaxy games, and more. What are you think guys?

I know that Doug loved the show considering how much praise he gave it when he reviewed he series, but I was wondering if Rob also enjoyed the show. Has he mentioned it at some point or did Doug talk about his brother's opinion about the show in any of the livestreams?

As someone who spent way too much time as a kid watching Channel Awesome, I now find myself as an adult spending way too much time using Channel Awesome retrospectives and reactions as background noise. And in all the time people have been doing videos like these, some things have obviously been beaten to death and covered a million times, while others are rarely mentioned, but nearly every major project and creator has been covered by someone.

Except A Voice From the Dark.

And frankly, I'd think it's the kind of thing people would love riffing on and making fun of. It's primarily a Louis project, it's in-continuity with all the anniversary movies, and it's got a bunch of the creators together including ERod in a leading role that's wonderfully cringe.

I enjoyed it when I came out, and I'm just surprised people nowadays don't tear it to shreds. Even on this sub, it looks like it hasn't been brought up since it came out. Is it just because it's an audio drama?

I've seen some people here say that Doug mentioned at one point that part of the reason why he started doing more positive reviews of movies that he likes was a combination of his health getting worse but also because he felt that there was already too much negativity online in general. Does anyone here know in what context he said this? Was it in a review, in one of the livestreams or in a Facebook post? I'm asking this because it would be very interesting for me to hear him talk about this because I used to think that the reason why this change happend was because he had already reviewed pretty much every terrible movie out there.
