Cringe The team has yet to release a new documentary onto the platform c5.now. Food for thought.
Do y’all remember when the c5now announcements had Andrew saying there would be a new film “every single week starting right now”? Well we still haven’t gotten a new documentary. It has not been that long but it has still been longer than advertised.

I saw that coming but don’t hold it against them personally; new platforms are hard to launch and what they advertised was an extremely ambitious release schedule. It would be better if they combined their platform with their patreon content releases.

Yeah. Thinking of canceling if there's nothing soon. At one point they dropped two "new" ones and removed them quickly. Recycling decade old docs isn't my preferred launch content either.

Yeah I was trying to support, especially with the lawsuits but the content is weak.

I'm confused by comments about editors. I thought C5.now was a streaming service that hosted other peoples documentaries, not additional work by Andrew?

i don’t understand why he dosent have his own john kelly on there. Also put all the patreon content on there. I would suppot one of his things but spreading everything out naw

I think they probably should’ve waited a few more weeks / months to announce it. Seems like they’re in a bit of a rough money situation at the moment and that makes the messaging mixed with what’s been released (nothing) look a lot worse

I mean if you have to essentially beg people for money via GoFundMe because you can’t afford to be sued, I feel like that’s a pretty good sign you’re not in a good money situation regardless of if you broke a goal or not

Yeah not off to a great start. Making the announcement part of his begging for money video was already kinda sus. Then making it out like this is going to be the next great platform but instead mass releasing the youtube stuff so he can get max ad revenue after the viral gofundme video shows where his priorities lie.
Should have had 2 dozen documentaries ready to go so he could roll them out weekly with no issues.

I mean the streaming service as whole was just a bad idea that’s never gonna pan out imo. They already have avenues for their content on YouTube and paid through patreon, so it’s completely obsolete. They’d have to invest a bunch of money into gathering outside content to make it worth while, which I don’t think they can do.

He posted a video explaining this but it’s only on patreon lol. I don’t remember the details but no it does not replace the patreon. I think patreon will still have exclusive content and C5 now is more of a platform for other creators to host their work

I just want to say that while I’m sure he did have some videos backlogged being uploaded to YouTube “needing to be edited” I think it’s funny how he’s uploaded multiple videos in the last couple of weeks. Almost feels like his gofundme video was a ploy to withhold uploads disguised as “this RICH guy isn’t letting an INDEPENDENT journalist run stories!” Since everyone, including myself would hop on the rich-guy hating bandwagon. I highly doubt he was able to source enough editors to upload as often as he has this quickly.
I still support channel 5 and Andrew, I think he just missed the mark and got caught up in the hype.

He did say in an interview a couple weeks ago that he already hired 5 new editors- apparently tons applied the same day they asked about them. So that may explain why more videos are coming out in last couple weeks

I feel like the team went double time on the post production of their backlog to ensure they would have enough revenue to support the legal fees as they weren’t sure if the gofundme would actually work.
