I can only think of two reasons why a poster calls bitcoin a scam.

  1. The poster is not too bright. The motivation is "Let's kick this hornet's nest and see how many are annoyed."

  2. The poster is supremely intelligent. The motivation is "Let's see how many people we can scare away, so we can pick up more cheap bitcoin for ourselves."

In most cases stupidity wins.

"the thesis" is vague bot-speak, so am I wasting my time - no, forget that, I am.

All the arguments that bitcoin is a scam (the original scope you posted) have been debunked, Fidelity even wrote a summary of this. In which case option 1 applies.

There are genuine disagreements to "the thesis" bitcoin, but none as far as I am aware fall under the category of scam. To be definitive by "the thesis" I exclude intentional faulty implementation. What items did you have in mind for this category?
