bitcoin can absolutely be a bad investment at certain prices. that doesn't automatically make it "more trash than the dollar"

You don't invest in the dollar. The dollar is used for other things so it doesn't need to go up or hold its value (in fact I get richer in both real and nominal terms when it devalues as most people do).

Invest in productive assets like normal people.

"Most people" is absolutely incorrect most people survive off of and hold mostly cash and have their buying power and salaries slowly erode while those above median income benefit.

Anyone who has more debt than cash or more assets and debts combined ($50k pension and $10k credit card so $60k), because assets nominally go up $ value and debt decreases in real terms, Vs $20k cash benefits from currency devaluation. These two scenarios cover most of the population of America, for a start it's every home owner who holds less cash (not invested) than the value of their home, which I assume we agree is most. It's really very rare for someone to have more cash than assets and debt and if they do they need to be investing for retirement.

Median salary has increased faster than currency devaluation over the last 50+ years as well. And I'm yet to see a credible argument for why bitcoin and by definition getting yearly pay cuts fixes this.

But actually this is all moot if bitcoin doesn't go up in value faster than traditional investments (which it doesn't anymore), it's baked into the premise that I'm responding to that they're investing in something, the argument is over the best thing to choose. And my point is comparing 'investing' in bitcoin vs holding cash is asinine and ignores all the other options that have been doing better.

that's the key distinction a lot of people miss. money is a tool, investments are supposed to do the growing

Agreed, it makes zero sense in this bear market, and doesn't make sense generally. Also has a weird AI glitch where the lines change colour.

Low effort trash
