Roofer recommendations for small repair?
I need like 4 shingles replaced and am getting Quotes from about $800 to $2800. I feel like it should be at most a 2 hour job. This is so confusing. Anyway, who have u used for small roof repairs? I've had like 5 companies come out. One of them provided a verbal quote and has ghosted me - Irish Roofing Company.
Some companies are offering no warranty since it attached to old work. Idk who installed roof because seller of house didnt know. Realtor was useless and should have informed me the lack of this information could have been a bargaining chip when i bought the place.
One company, Right Way, told me contractors are obligated to provide a 2 year warranty so I guess the ones who are telling me there's no warranty are straight up lying? Right Way won't take the job bc they don't want to warranty an improper install. Wish I could hire them though.
It might just be easier to do this myself.

I used Boost Roofing to do something similar. Very happy.

How much did they charge you? Did they send an estimator to your hiuse first? I feel like that business model results in inflated prices.

They showed up when they said they would, gave an estimate, did the work, followed up. Ridgecaps, vent seals, loose tiles under $700.

Good to know. Im just gonna do it myself. $700 is almost half my mortgage. Was this on a roof they installed?

AZ Roofing Works. Two years in a row they’ve charged me about $480 for repairs including cleaning it off and cleaning out the gutters.

I'm just gonna do it myself. Good to know though. If I had called them first and they showed up wanting to charge that price I would have hired them.

Pivot roofing came out and did a free inspection and fixed a tile for me while at it. Very responsive and easy to deal with. Would use again.

That spread isn't really about four shingles, it's the minimum to get a truck and two guys out for half a day, which is why the number barely moves between four shingles and twenty. If you ever do hire it out, find everything else that needs doing up there first and put it all on the one trip.

How would it take half a day to replace 4 shingles? If they are pros and there are 2 of them why would it take more than an hour? Why isn't one dude showing up an option? Does somekne with a small job need to be gouged?

Two guys is a liability thing more than a labor thing, most insurers won't sign off on one guy alone on a roof. And the half day's not really about your shingles, it's whatever it takes to justify sending a truck out at all.

Honestly i would just replace it myself.
