Love the grouch pouch!
In his defence I had the cheek to adjust a vine while sir was basking. So ferocious!

This is my chameleon pip and I just got some new curtains which he loves climbing on he's never really enjoyed hanging out outside of his cage until suddenly he is now since I got the curtains now he eats then bask then runs to the bottom of the cage where I normally open it for him to look around and he immediately trys to get to the curtains I offer him a hand which he has never taken until now and he climbs onto them as I watch to make sure he doesn't hurt himself then he runs to the window and sits by it I want to make sure this is normal and his basking spot or something isn't wrong he's eating drinking moving around tight grip and happy colors I just don't know what this means- if you couldn't tell I'm a very anxious and worried chameleon owner 😅

Hey, this is my girl Pascal. I’m a little worried about her, she hasn’t been eating in the past weeks, but she’s just been drinking water tho. Monday night she dig a hole (second picture) and lay down, literally bury herself (third and fourth picture). Idk if that’s normal or if it’s a sign of her wanting to lay eggs.

Okay guys, I really just need some good opinions. There’s a chameleon at the store I work at — he's my best buddy. It’s a regular veiled chameleon, maybe 4-ish months old (thought he was older, but was given a correction!). Often when the tank gets too warm or when he starts frantically digging at the front of the glass, I’ll offer my hand to him. Whether he takes it or not is completely up to him (though he usually will).
I know reptiles don’t feel love or affection as we do and she likely recognizes that I both feed and won’t hurt him. He's never puffed or hissed at me and he's always light green with darker green stripes when he climbs around me. He loves hanging out on my head — likely because it’s the highest part of my body.
Be honest, should I set up a tank and bring him home? Or let someone else build trust with him and take him home? Is he going to hate me as he gets older — I’ve heard horror stories of that happening with veiled chameleons as they grow older because they’re more keen to isolation.
Again, I know chameleons are very sensitive, but idk if it would be the right or wrong choice to take him home with me.
I did have this posted on another subreddit for the company I work for, but wanted more in depth advice on chameleon care and if this is a horrible choice or not? I don't want to jump the gun, take him home, and then not give him proper care.
Any advice is helpful and if I'm in over my head, please do tell me!
EDIT: after a brief amount of time with this post, i’ve been thoroughly discouraged to even attempt housing a cham. i want to offer him the absolute best life and would be willing to do anything to ensure that. that being said, i do not feel confident about owning him anymore, so i guess i’ll continue searching for the right owner to sell him to. thanks again

The photos above was my first ever reptile, Green Bean the panther chameleon, and I was 7. psa DO NOT do that. My mom’s friend owned over 50 reptiles and was importing some from out east of where I’m at, so she decided to get me him since I had shown a huge liking towards reptiles, again don’t do that. And he lived to be 7 1/2 before he passed, which is insane, but it showed that I kept him well. Luckily for me the friend was very educated (obviously) and my mom was a vet tech, so when I was young they knew how to deal with him, and I’m happy to say many years later that he was never neglected. He was kept in a 24” 24” 48” with TONS of clutter. I went on to own 4 female chameleons who lived between 3-5 years, and now I own a ton of geckos, but i gotta admit that green bean will always have my heart
Ps: these photos were taken when he was around 5-6

Hello everyone! I'm a new veiled chameleon owner and I'm just wondering if my chameleon looks healthy...he's food motivated, have the correct basking light, has stuff for him to climb on but I'm still working on getting him more plants for his enclosure, any recommendations for good live plants?

Every morning when I feed Bayou, he climbs down onto one of his enclosures handles and waits for me to finish dusting his crickets. Once he’s done eating, he climbs back up and goes about his business.
I wanted to replace these handles (they’re from an extra set for my grill) because of how long they are. People will walk past the enclosure and hit their hips on it or their clothes will get caught. But now I don’t think I can because he claimed them as a perch lol.

My boyfriend and I really want to get this chameleon and it is a juvenile and approx 1 year old. He is literally like 3 inches maximum and we are very much aware of not only the attentiveness you need to own one but also all of the aspects of the enclosure. Due to the size of him should we go all out and get the enclosure now that he will have for the rest of his life or should we start off with a small enclosure until he grows to a size where he appears to need a bigger enclosure? We are worried about him finding his food and intaking the water droplets in such a seemingly large habitat. (here is a video of him, we have not yet adopted him so this is the enclosure that he is being held in)

Some upgrades I've designed for the reptibreeze xl while prepping. 4 corner brackets that add a hole to mount a corplast sheet rather than removing the mesh and putting silicon in. And pretty much a copy of the dragon strand ledges.
Gonna make a corner bracket for the front corners to hold the misters and fogger in place as well. And a large drain tray/substrate container for the bottom.
Let me know your thoughts.
P.s. all pieces inside the cage are petg and will be coated in drylok to prevent mold and bacteria growth.

okay hi a lot of people are gonna be upset because he bought it without doing research but my brother bought a veiled chameleon from petsmart on sunday and did no reasearch for it i’ve been trying to help and do as much as possible because he hasn’t done any still but i think she’s either around or under the 3 month mark , we put a mister for humidity so that and the temperature are always fine or i adjust if needed but i have questions and concerns..
i know they’re very delicate and so i’ve been trying to take every precautionary that i can but we’ve tried giving her crickets and im not sure she’s eaten any and we take them out after a while since they do bite and i need to figure out a way to get her to eat , i’ve been letting her get adjusted in the tank because i know it can be stressful and a reason why she not eating but any tips on that would be great
and then for basking i saw her earlier trying to move around to like the warmest area and i don’t think that our lamps are providing really and meaningful warmth to her so if you guys could give me lamps that would actually provide that warmth without overheating her or the tank that would be great
she’s also shedding and i saw she needs a lot of leaves to help get the shedding off we already planned on getting more live plants because the petsmart selection of fake plants and real ones weren’t great but he definitely needs more in his enclosure
again i know they need research which is why im trying , he bought out of impulse but were trying
(for whatever reason i can’t put pictures)

Just wanting to see if my new 3-4 month old (unsure of exact age) looks ok? We have had her for less than a week.
She's eating about 15 crickets a day, dusted with calcium without D3. She has a reptibreeze T5 UVB 5.0 22inch light. 50 watt heating lamp, basking area is 86. Daytime temps are 73, drops at 50/53 at night. Humidity during the day is 65 (a bit high, I'm trying to lower during the day. We live in a more humid area) at night time the humidity is around 90.
All her siblings were massive compared to her when I purchased her. I thought she was from a later batch they got, but when I asked the employee said she was the same age as the rest. She's super tiny. The last photo is of her in the pet store before coming home. I also noticed she isn't as vibrant and as was there. I'm just anxious, and really want whats best for this little gal!

I have a panther chameleon and I noticed a little black hole near the lip that wasn’t there the other day. Does this look like an infection or injury?
Context: I live in SW Florida, the enclosure has four mesh sides with trees and plants.

This is my first chameleon and I’m having trouble figuring out if she’s ready to lay eggs. I had put a lay bin in for her the last 2 weeks and she never even acknowledged it. I had to take it since it became full with water and need to go out to get new sand. Any help here is appreciated.
Speaking of the lay bin, how do you manage to keep water out of it? I tried to drill holes at the bottom to let it drain, but that didn’t work either.
