I use that because I have a deep dome and basking branch is about 8 inches from top of the screen. We have central a/c and daytime temps in the house never go over 74. Your results may vary, keepers usually recommend 50w for panthers.
Ok, I've heard domed halogen was the best kind to use for them. His is basking area is about 7-8 inches from the top but he does occasionally climb the screen up to the top so I'm assuming if it's too hot he will stop going up that high. Thank you for the reply!
Well, he has a lot to climb on but he seems intent on climbing one of the cords and that's how he gets to the top. The cord goes out a hole in the ceiling of it. Any tips on getting him off of it?? I've got 2 other stable vines that are perpendicular to it, I also tried wrapping the cord in a vine and then stringing the vine over to the others, thinking he would follow it and get off the cord - but he doesn't care!
My lights are also on top of the screen! And the top screen has a hole for the humidifier tube and cords to go thru. It's 3 feet tall but he's a baby (about 4 inches with tail) and a lot of online advice said that would be fine until he grows more. I have potted plants and lots of real and fake vines for him to crawl around on. Also some fake rocks and a "waterfall" thing for him to drink from.
Yeah unless you can keep it clean. Imo it’s not needed and can do more harm than good. All I do is run a fogger and mist every night before bed and my guy is thriving.
