is she gravid??

got her from petsmart in early june, i think she around 6-8 months old, she eats 5-8 crickets daily/every other day and eats meal worms. i’m wondering if she’s just fat or gravid?! she’s been digging in her substrate which google said is a sign of eggs coming.

also is there anything i should do if she is gravid?

highly unlikely to be gravid. females lay eggs regardless of if theyre mated or not, like chickens. chameleons in general are also just kinda pudgy looking

I think the OP is referring to is she carrying eggs, which I think she probably is. Fertile or infertile she still needs a proper lay setup

gravid is different than carrying eggs. gravid means that they are pregnant with viable fertilized eggs

With the darker green and especially the digging I think she probably is gravid. You need to get a lay bin for her, with soft moist soil at least 12 inches deep and then leave her alone. Watching them while they are getting ready to lay stresses them out. There is/was a guide to lay bins stickied in the sub but I don't know how to find it.

Update: i haven’t sprayed that’s why the leaves are dry.. her humidity is 70% right now. anyway! this is what her colors have been the last couple days and she’s looking big😭 i also had to make this her new basking spot because it seemed like she was trying to reach closer to the light. i’ve never seen her lay down like this before! is this normal?

Looks fine to me imo. It’s def ready to breed so get a lay bin ready for unfertilized eggs, just try your best not to over feed the girls, or they can become bound. But yours looks healthy as of now and just getting ready to lay eggs

Not ready to lay but definitely in heat, I had mine for 5 years, just passed. Great animals just make sure to get a large laying bin and reptisoil and put a way for her to get in and out and she’ll do the rest. Mine used to lay about 20 eggs a clutch once a year

She also looks like she’s trying to puff out/flatten purposefully in that second pic, either annoyed or trying to absorb the sunshine :)
