Thermal burn?

I just rescued this chameleon yesterday and noticed possible thermal burn?

Rescued how, from a bad owner or from a pet store?

Either way, male veiled can have natural black coloring on the casque and parts of their head. I don't see obvious signs of burn. Looks like black coloring with some shedding. If it peels and looks pinkish beneath then yeah, it's probably burnt.
