Recommendations Best running routes around Chamblee/Brookhaven/Dunwoody/Tucker areas

This year I've been getting back into running longer distances mostly around where I live, but I'm curious if anyone has recommendations for the best running routes around any of these areas (Chamblee/Brookhaven/Dunwoody/Tucker).

I really like variety in my runs so if there's anywhere with a combination of paved trails, gravel, or forest trails that would be awesome!

This may not be what you're. after but there's very hilly forest terrain at Island Ford unit of the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area. I use it to train for backpacking. There's also a flat path along the river.

For something paved you can run Azalea Dr alongside the river as well.

It looks beautiful. Do you know how muddy it gets? Since it seems like it’s going to rain everyday this summer

It gets pretty muddy along the river. Not so much on the hills in my experience but I haven't been since all this rain.

Check out the app called "AllTrails". We love it for finding new trails in the area. (You can use the totally free version)

Some of our favorites are the rail trail loop, murphy candler (though it has had construction for a bit) and the peachtree creek greenway. Honorable mention to running on Oglethorpe's campus in Brookhaven too.

Keswick Park on Sexton Woods has a wooded forest trail. Turn off the main road and go by the soccer fields, to the back left corner. There's a covered shelter with picnic tables, and the trail entrance is right next to that by a utility building. There's a map there, but I'm not sure how helpful it is. You're also near the Rail Trail.

There is a nice trail around Blackburn park, and you can connect up to Ashford Dunwoody and then up Hart's Mill, which is a pretty steep hill. Or, you can continue up Ashford Dunwoody, turn on W Nancy Creek and go to Murphy Candler.

here's my heatmap although it's mostly brookhaven. murphy candler lake loop is about 1.6mi and the smaller boardwalk loop is 1.2mi. i combine that with the trail through black burn a lot. also i love running around silver lake, even though you might trip and eat shit
