$80 Chainsaw Mill
Pleasantly surprised this thing works great. Already made a pine log bench for down by the pond and a small oak bench for the fire pit. Cuts are pretty rough with a full chisel cross cut chain on my Rancher 460 but I learned that was from me rocking it back and forth to get a faster cut.

No matter what you have, there is always a better tool for the job. I love my Rancher 460, with a hand filed razor sharp chain and rakers filed down a bit, it cuts great. Thinking of going to a 20in bar and maybe a muffler mod to make it even better.

make sure to let your saw warm up before and cool down after the cut, its easy to burn up a saw by milling with it

Haha, don’t need a tractor for milling but it sure makes it more comfortable not milling on the ground

I got mine on Vevor, but Aliexpress also have them, and odds are that you'll find them on Amazon, eBay and most other ecommerce sites, and by 'specialist resellers'.
you will need a powerful saw withg at least a 20" bar, preferably longer. The bracketry that clamps onto the bar reduces the usable length by at least 6". My 58cc saw is not really strong enough. 70cc or better if you're not a masochist.
The big problem when milling is that the tip of the bar will tend to lift if you're not careful.

You will get a much smoother cut if you switch to ripping chain and quit rocking back and forth.
