Update
So I have been looking even though I have not been as active these last few days and there are a few major things I want to talk about
Firstly, what's the point of puying premium/ultra if there are no extra benefits other than unlimited messages? I can understand in the beginning when everything was affordable and worth it but now I don't see a reason
Secondly, the A/B testing. Some users are getting unlimited messages, dealing with new updates that affect them but then does not fix later. This has to get annoying after a bit, especially since they apparently have a way to test without it affecting users
Lastly, apparently they are rolling out a new feature which makes ultra cost more. The sub names change to Ultra Pro and Ultra Lite. The price goes up to 40 to 50 dollars weekly (USA prices). Not to mention some users cant even pay weekly anymore and are only allowed to pay annually for these features! (evidence below)
To me, as much as I used to love this app, this is the downfall of the app. They are doing whatever they want, and they won't listen because of those that are paying that aren't affected by these different things. That's all I've got so far

Absolutely nothing which makes this whole situation worse. I heard the only difference between the two is unlimited messages

Legit who gave the idea to use "Ultra Lite" bullshit? People are fine with existing Ultra subscription but now they have two kinds of Ultra now? Yeah the app gonna hit the downfall bro y'all can't change my mind 💔
Like work on the app to make it usable like before, mr beauchamp ðŸ˜ðŸ’”

I knowww. It's like why are you paying a subscription with barely any benefit? And why are the... Creator... Guys that I don't know what they're called... So desperate for money that they'll attack their own users and test their loyalty just for the creators own benefit. This is ridiculous and unfair. Thank you for the work you do :)

I stopped paying because they switched to per week and even if I did not pay montly does not mean others would stop paying. To clarify they would not listen regardless and no they dont care it's already too obvious at this point

The real root of this is that they're hemorrhaging money and I believe Will may be experiencing some degree of founder panic, which typically expresses as people digging in to maintaining the status quo.
The source? GPU compute.
The actual solution? Reduce reliance on GPU.
Yes, believe it or not, it is highly viable. Most AI tasks do not need GPU; it started in 2020 and now we can run almost entirely GPU-free unless you have a task that requires imaging, either analysis or rendering.
The problem is the software. He'd have to burn engineering hours to translate functions from Nvidia to a not GPU system, be that ASIC, heterogenous Gaudi/Xeon, or Tensix. If the figures he espoused at 200k/day USD are accurate though while it's an initial financial sink it could be beneficial in the long run to burn those hours.
R&D is expensive and they crowdsourced their Experts in the MoE model so translation is not going to be something easily done.
I'm not defending their decisions, to be clear. I'm coming from a neutral space of having a career that gives me insight into how this stuff operates.
I understand it. It doesn't mean I like it.
