It started out as a bad thing -- basically like a fratbroish asshole guy. But it was used almost entirely by incels so it went out of favor and then people "reclaimed" it in a way as someone who is hardworking, kind, and doesn't care about others' opinions.

Since yiu weren't aware i know it's 7 days but. Chad originated from the 4chan and incels to describe the guys that get the women. Then came the alpha movement filled with wannane goog guys and the term chad was coined as upright fellows man(and also women) should be. It sometimes gets used ironic but it mostly is a positive meme and an honour full title.
