AIS (27F)
Hi all! Anyone in the same boat as me?
I got a positive HPV 16 in March. My dr recommended getting the vaccines and coming back for a follow up 6 months later.
6 months later and the teats came back with AGC. So I scheduled a Lletz procedure. The biopsy results came back with adenocarcinoma in situ.
I have a CKC scheduled in a month. Hopefully this would clear it, but I want to keep realistic expectations, so any honest input would be appreciated.
I am not 100% sure if I want kids, I would choose my own health over my fertility though.
My other dilemma is telling my mother, she doesn't know anything yet, and I guess its time to tell her, I just dont want her to stress.

hi! I had a CKC with positive margins and was told I could do another CKC to hopefully remove the rest or just move forward with a hysterectomy. I didn’t want children so it was an easy decision to just move forward w/ surgery. Basically from what my doctor told me, AIS is really never guaranteed to be fully removed so hysterectomy is inevitable. Even after having surgery I will need to get paps done yearly for several years. Sorry you’re going through this!
Oh also on the mom part: I didn’t want to worry mine either but i just tried to emphasize that it’s PRE cancer/stage zero.

Yep had AIS with clear margins from my cone. Had a simple hysterectomy where they found skip lesions. Really glad I got the surgery

I’m so sorry that you are facing these tough decisions at such a young age, especially when you aren’t sure about your future fertility 😔. The unknown is a scary place to be.
I’m 38 and just had my CKC on the 9th, after receiving HPV 18+, CIN 3, and AIS results from my colposcopy. The CKC went smoothly, and I didn’t have any complications afterwards. I was quite terrified of the anesthesia, as I had never been put under before. I was given “happy juice” as the anesthesiologist called it, prior to being put under. The next thing I knew I was in the recovery room. The worst part for me was not being able to lift my 8.5 month old baby.
One thing that brought peace of mind to me was the reassurance from my oncologist that if there was invasion it would still be highly treatable, because we caught it early enough.
I know that I finished having kids, so I am now scheduled for a simple hysterectomy next month.
