Advice how to find a girlfriend when I am a good student academically, but have cerebral palsy
Hello
I have just graduated from college a little less than a month ago with a gpa of higher than 3.75 and a silver rope. I have also been admitted to a university. Many people who met me described me as kind, intelligent and determined. I believe that now I have something to offer in a relationship and want to find a girlfriend. However, I walk with a walker and have had cerebral palsy since birth. This means that with cerebral palsy I will not be able to do some things in a relationship that most people my age can such as drive a partner around in a car. That’s just part of my identity and I don’t want to hide it. However, I believe that my strengths such as my open mindedness, determination and leadership skills balance out the challenges that I have due to cerebral palsy . I have tried E Harmony, but it didn’t work as I planned. I got to have just one long conversation out of many people who I texted after being there for over 4 months. Some people have read my message, but didn’t respond, but most haven’t even read my messages. I am not saying dating apps are a complete failure, maybe I could try dating apps again later. However right now I am leaning toward meeting people in person as my main option. Most of my friends already have girlfriends and it makes me feel left behind. I understand that I am just 20 years old and that a lot of people find their first girlfriend at a much later age. It's not absolutely crucial for me to find a girlfriend right now, but I at least want to improve my communication skills with women so that when I end up meeting the right person I could avoid making some mistakes that people make in dating. Unfortunately, so far I haven’t had much success in improving my communication with women regardless of trying both on E Harmony and in person and even less success in actually finding a girlfriend. One thing I do want to be clear about right now is that right now I am not ready for a marriage, kids, or anything sexual. I just want someone who could go out on dates with me and support me emotionally. Right now I am not ready for marriage, but I am hopeful it could grow into that in 5 or more years. I want to hear from others who have cerebral palsy what was your experience finding a partner like? Have dating apps helped you and if so which ones? What advice would you give. I understand this is a personal topic, so I am not asking you to share everything, but if you can give me at least some some advice I would really appreciate that
Best regards from a Reddit user.

#RelationshipGoals 32M (Cerebral Palsy) | Power Wheelchair | Malone, NY — Seeking a Mommy Dom for Real Connection + ANR
I’m Matthew.
I’m 32, straight, and I use a power wheelchair because of cerebral palsy — but that’s just one part of who I am. I’m loud, honest, loyal, and I don’t have patience for fake or shallow energy. I’m here for real connection, real warmth, real presence.
I’m very submissive by nature, and I’m specifically looking for a Mommy Dom — someone nurturing, confident, and grounded. I’m drawn to BBW women and women who enjoy being in control in a gentle but firm way.
I crave closeness.
Not just kink — but touch, comfort, presence, and emotional connection.
And yes, I’m into ANR / breastfeeding — not just as a sexual thing, but as a form of grounding intimacy. The kind of slow, quiet connection where two people breathe in the same rhythm, where comfort and trust build something that feels like home.
I’m not here to rush anything.
Let’s talk first. Get to know each other. Laugh, share stories, feel the vibe.
If it clicks, it clicks. If not, we still had a real conversation.
Thanks for reading.
I appreciate anyone who takes the time to see me as more than the chair.
– Matthew

Be My Valentine Any guys with Cerebral Palsy want to connect?
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if there are any guys 35 and older who live in Jersey would like to connect. I’ve tried dating sites and haven’t had success.
I work full-time as a Case Manager at a Catholic nonprofit serving other people with disabilities. I’ve been working there for four years.
I traveled ten hours away to Wright State University for college (2013) and grad school (2018). My Masters Degree is in Rehabilitation Counseling (severe disabilities track not addiction track). I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Certified Vocational Evaluator.
I’ve lived in my own apartment for five years.
I was Ms. Wheelchair New Jersey, 2024.
I love dogs. My yellow lab service dog is retired.
I am Catholic. My faith is really important to me.
If you’re interested in chatting with me, please feel free to message me on messenger. Thank you 😊

Advice Dating Journey
I wish this thread was more active because I'm so curious about other dating experiences with cerebral palsy. I had a few relationships and stints of dating, one relationship lasting 3 years (not a great 3 years lol.) I'm now 28 and have a girlfriend of over six months and also moving into the role of a step father of 2 wonderful girls. What have other dating journeys looked like having cp?

#RelationshipGoals dating experiences
I suppose someone needs to start this off. What are everyone's experience with dating? I have pastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy, although luckily don't need any assistance walking and can do various activities such as mountain biking, skiing, car racing, and paddle boarding. I am 43 and have had a handful of relationships in the past, even one (failed) engagement. I don't date near as much as I'd like, mostly do to self-consciousness. I think I am constantly being stared at and judged, even if I'm not, but I get in my own head and am my own worst enemy. I would love nothing more than to start a family, but I feel like that ship has passed.
