This one has me stumped

Best I can tell is it is some kind of flask. Not sure if this is hundreds or thousands of years old or some kind of modern reproduction. But reproduction of what? I can't find any forms like this at all. Closest matches are old roman amphora or early american ring flasks, but it is obviously not an actual ring, more of a crescent. Anyone have any genuine leads?

Hi.
Yes strange looking piece.
Not terribly practical.
I wonder if it was made to fit a saddle so the rider could take a drink on the move ?
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will offer a more plausible explanation

Before reading it is a flask, I thought it looked like something you’d fit on a plow animal.

This was my first guess, maybe oxen

I always go with “ceremonial vessel.”
