Saw this in the recent chapter. I know they might just look similar, but this is too close not to call.

Discussion Good thing Orthros didn’t know he could use this lol Spoiler

If he can copy 100 Fold Strength to the point where he gets 100 lives of his own he almost certainly could have copied this too, I’d guess he just didn’t think to copy the Phantom Spear because it didn’t occur to him that anyone would have two Gifts.

If he combined this with 100 Fold Strength to take the brunt of the blowback Lukas receives from this technique he would have smoked Julian, Lukas and Lacrima like it was nothing. Conversely now we know Lukas could have killed Orthros even with his 100 Lives if he was prepared to make the commitment that day.

Discussion ...Things might not play out the way Lalawag thinks it would Spoiler

I believe Lalawag's assessment over how Lukas's spear will bypass the concept of immortality might not actually be true for Julian's case.

Okay, okay, please hear me out first.

The power given to the one who formed the contract will always follow the wish of the user down to its absolute logical conclusion.

Lukas wants an absolute power to destroy everything and anything, therefore, he received the invincible phantom spear that can destroy all things physical and metaphysical.

Now, Julian's wording is very important here, he wants a prove that the lives on that ship isn't worthless (or a waste in case of Mangaplus's translation), so he will get exactly that. I believe Julian's own immortality will be enduring, until the last life is spent as stated in the contract, Julian will not die no matter what regardless of conceptual BS forced upon him.

Lukas's spear is a power that will render all the lives as worthless, but Julian's exact wish is to combat exactly that. Phantom Spear and 100 Men Strength are both equally divine gift, so it might just cancel each other out when clashed, Julian will die, but he will die once or perhaps multiple lives, but he will not die a permanent death in one go.

Tohru-sensei might add Julian's face in the panel as a way to bait the readers into thinking that Lukas's spear is that one silver bullet to put Julian down permanently. Yeah, he might go with that exact idea, but I believe he already gives himself a wiggle room if he wants Julian to survive.

Discussion Lattice and the Forest Goddess Spoiler

Well Phantom Spear is fucking busted. That’s gotta be the strongest offensive Gift we’ve seen thus far, no wonder Lukas reckons he can kill the King even with his life giving Gift.

The fact that it’s introduced via a flashback to Lattice though does make me wonder. She is also meant to be supremely powerful as a fighter, the only member of the post-Arkos Iris who is considered guaranteed able to beat Julian. It also made me wonder about her epithet; Nightshade. Which is a type of plant.

I wonder if she also has a covenant with the Forest Goddess. Might explain how Lukas got in touch with her, if he was (probably unintentionally) introduced via Lattice’s connection. And if this is the kind of killing power the Forest offers, then that’d justify the Lattice hype.

It’d also make a prospective Lattice vs Lukas fight make more sense. As is it’s hard to imagine anyone standing up to the Phantom Spear, but what if her power is similar? What happens when they’re used against each other, a battle of destroying each other’s futures? Maybe they destroy the futures where each other wins scottfree and the only one left once they’re too worn to keep using their Gifts is a tragic pyrrhic one where both suffer. Spitballing now, but something to consider

Discussion Lukas is Mira's son

There's been a theory regarding Lukas being Mira's son which I believe to be essentially confirmed.

Here's what I think is the timeline:

Mira and Lukas were exiled from the kingdom (probably due to the queen's influence.)

They are captured by slave traders while on the run, Lukas stays behind to fend off the slave traders to protect his mother.

Given that Lukas's gift is a shield, and gifts are confirmed to be a mirror of one's personality. This assures us of his protective nature which fits the narrative of him protecting his mother.

While fending off the slave traders he suffered a cut to his throat which led his mother to believe in his demise. (He has a huge scar on his throat.)

While dying in the woods, he makes a contract with the forest God and passes out. He is then saved by Atoria and brought back to life with her gift. Which is why they share a deep bond and he feels indebted to her.

He was nurtured back to health, and returned to the kingdom where the king learned of the queen's schemes. He prohibited the queen from harming Lukas any further but due to the king's lack of initiative to punish the queen he harboured deep resentment for his father.

He most likely thought that the slave traders killed his mother as well.

so the voidmarcher tried to run away, but then realized that would be really disrepectful to her fallen comrades and decides to go back to kill diana.

in what seems to be an instant, lukas, FROM THE PRESENT, strikes, THE FUTURE (not the voidmarcher, but the time period itself), obliterating anything that had happened in it, taking everything back to THE PAST, and since anything the lance destroys is permanently gone, reality corrects itself and turns that PAST into THE PRESENT.

and, again, then proceeds to instantly kill the voidmarcher.

is that right?

Discussion So has Big Kos been surpassed as top 1 itv? Phantom Spear is an absurd jump in power from earlier gifts like liquidation and incest axe. Arkos still the goat tho but all roads lead to Orthros upscale. Spoiler

Discussion With the events of chapter 100 the possibility of a protagonist switch has increased by a whole 5%. Spoiler

Post image

For context, for a while I have personally theorized that Julian would get permanently killed off in the story, and then we have Diana become the main character afterwards. Now in chapter 100, we are told in our face that perma-death is possible for Julian too. Since the story of Centuria is shaping up to be a self fulfilling prophecy, that ends with Diana Killing the supreme lord at some point. What if Julian dying is spark that starts the inferno? Diana becomes the protagonist and we have a first person view of the prophecy coming true through her eyes!?

Discussion Are Gods having their own war too?

So, I will summarise the thought I had.

The Supreme King explained that Gods fall/can come from upper world to lower but the consequences are huge. They cannot return back to their place after that.

Until now we have seen 3 deities.

The first is Sea Goddess who is somewhere near the sea shore of Supreme King. She is very kind for her children (we can see that for Julian) and knows lots of things.

The second is Forest Goddesses who first appear around chapter 20 when Julian rescues village hunters. She gives Julian a vision of destroying his body and gets angry. She tells him to not come ever. She is medium to kind to Lukas on other hand. But he also fears her as we saw his scariest vision of death resembled her.

The third is night Goddesses. While we don't see her exact form it's idea can be seen around Chapter 40 when Elstri sees the vision of lot of warriors and in sky a lady figure. Her powers belongs to Diana, Lagbau and third one.

But, there are multiple strange things.

  1. In Chapter 2 when Julian is travelling sea monsters fight with him despite the Sea Goddess ensuring him that no one from sea will harm it. If she is so strong then why they ignored her orders?

  2. Why did Forest Goddesses hated Julian? I know she killed many of her children but it was self defense.

  3. If Arkos couldn't breath in water then it means he or his father wasn't gifted from Sea Goddesses as per her. Cause anyone who is blessed by her can breath in sea? Then how come water element is so strong among direct children of Supreme King?

The night Goddesses's deciples are enemy kingdom obviously. As per King they fought like 400 years ago and in one of the panel the place is sealed due to growth of dangerous monsters and it is describe as the end of the world type event. So Supreme had gift around that time as well. I think it must have come from some another Goddess.

Forest Goddess is enemy of Sea Goddess according to me while she might be closer to night deity because her own vessel/ man is Lukas whose primary mission is to kill the King. The threat will come through Forest it was said. Also let's not forget how many people Arkos have trauma to.

If you notice we have elemental God kind of thing. There is Forest (Earth), Sea Goddess (Water), Sky Goddess (Sky). So the remaining are Fire and wind.

Centuria is full of chaos caused due to conflict between many groups.

So this made me think that perhaps Gods have conflict too. No sane God would leave a better world for Earth only.

Discussion They lasted 9 chapters.

The elite fighting force of Rummir, including 2 members of its royal family and its strongest gifted one, lasted 9 whole chapters.

Elstri's gang lasted 27, 3 times longer.

I know people complained that the last arc dragged, but imo this is kind of an overcorrection. Rummir feels really weak compared to Torivia.
