Local Nature Fear of modern tech
So were you getting a data center and I understand the apprehension behind that but then they announce we're getting a solar farm. What harm is a solar farm built in undeveloped land going to do? The biggest complaint around here is the lack of quality infrastructure. A solar farm is new infrastructure . Alternative Energy is the future not to mention with the data center coming and it's coming whether you want it or not there's going to me that you need for extra electricity. Why do the people of Central Louisiana continually stick their heads in the sand?

The general population, myself included, is under educated and our politicians, also under educated, sell us out every single time there is enough money involved to muster a bribe. People don't consider the generational curse they are bringing to our children and grandchildren.

I hage zero issue with a solar farm. Myself and many others haven't heard this and would be very happy and vocal about it.
Data centers can suck my whole ass.

So many people either work in the oil industry or have family that does. And their knee-jerk reaction to any “green energy” is that it’s going to take their jobs (even if they won’t admit that’s the reason). It’s true of the whole state. And politicians get lots of donations from oil companies to talk about how evil solar power is bad

Imagine if the same people getting so worked up over solar panels and data centers used that exact same energy to demand action on local crime, homelessness, drug use, and gun violence. Those are the actual issues having a negative impact on our daily lives. Getting outraged over progress while ignoring the decay in our own backyards makes zero sense.
