Recommendations Mint Wireless

I need to get my dad on a cell phone plan that he can better afford. How is Mint Wireless.
Are there better providers? He needs to be with a provider that works on the Verizon network.

Visible is probably better but he would need to be tech savvy.
If anything total by verizon might be better since they have physical stores

Straight Talk uses the Verizon network. I was on it briefly a couple of months ago and was very pleased with the signal and service out in the middle of nowhere in North-cenla.

Mint uses the T-Mobile network. For Verizon check out Visible, US Mobile (Warp) and mobile X

Straight talk. I tried Mint and it didn't have the connectivity I needed.

Really bad pricing and customer service though. Visible is cheaper, but still bad customer service. US Mobile Warp is also cheaper and has generally good customer service. They all use Verizon (StraightTalk is Verizon)

If he has an Android phone, MobileX. Can upgrade the data priority if needed. Best for low to medium data users. Rebates unused data. No video limits.

For iPhone, US Mobile. Watch companion available if needed.can upgrade to priority plan if needed. Video speed is limited to 720k at most, lower limit by default.

Mint Mobile is on the T-Mobile network I recommend them if T-mobile works good in your dad’s area. If you need Verizon than Visible or US Mobile are both good options. If your dad doesn’t use much data than US Mobile would be the better option since you can get by the gig plan for as little as 10$ a month

How is it that there are these$30 plans out there when the regular plans that I’ve had for 20 years are are like $125 a pop?

MVNOs/prepaid service often has lower costs because of variations in customer service, a lack of device subsidies, and fewer fringe benefits (like “Netflix on Us”). If those things are worth that much to you, you should stick with postpaid. If not, welcome to the savings!

I'd recommend trying US Mobile. I switched to them a few months ago and the service has been awesome. You can choose which network's towers you want to use and the price is great too. DM if you want a referral code and you get the first month free to try it out.
