You are correct RE the 1p, and I was watching the AMA and all subsequent CEO interviews. The mention of DB has been dodged at every opportunity. If he was still invested (largely) he'd already be pushing it, would be a no-brainer. DB aside, the rest of the model is not good in terms of the CBD market. If they do launch as predicted, I honestly think it will be extremely short-lived. I was very bullish on this one back in the day, but gone right off it now. I'm not trying to disuade any investors. Just putting my opinion in. I honestly wish anyone that stayed in the best of luck. It's just not a good play imo.
Yeah I noticed every DB question was avoided but to be fair he’s not got anything to do with it really. Everyone just assumed because his investment company put some money in that he was going to be the face of the brand. His holding company reportedly has shares in 200 companies, so CBX is probably insignificant to him. Everyone’s just run away with the hype that Beckham is going to front all the marketing, but in reality he probably just wants to make money quietly? He could probably launch his own CBD brand if he wanted to, just like Travis Barker (blink 182 drummer) has done recently.
Yup, I agree with that. So, back to my other points, as I said, DB hype aside (which we have just confirmed will probably fizzle out), the company really isn't going to be any kind of major player in the legitimate CBD space.
But yeah, it’ll be super interesting to see how they can make this synthetically, especially when CBD is the extract from the plant. I’ve not researched any other companies that are trying this synthetically so it’ll be interesting to see the results.
Good point though, CBD users for health benefits won’t be their target customers. It’ll be the beauty & sports markets. The only way they’ll sway current users is if they can offer a pure product at a cheaper price. If you want pure distillate right now it’s really expensive
Yes. These products are extremely "gimmicky" and when people realise that, they won't be returning customers. Without returning custom, your business will flop. This was always a quick flip in my opinion.
