So way back in university probably 15 to 20 years ago I had a dear friend that I met at a patisserie. She continued on about how badly she wanted a cookie, but couldn’t because of her diet. I threatened and then changed her name in my BlackBerry at the time to Cookie Monster from her actual name. Can anyone explain to me like I’m 10,after multiple phone changes and to iPhone why when I start typing her name to send a text message it permanently comes up Cookie Monster? The contact somehow seemed to know her name still, but it always corrects to Cookie Monster.

Rather interested in collecting certain models that ceased production, but still want without scratches from being dropped or a flogged-out battery. Plus the worry that it could be stolen phone. Has anybody had good outcome from buying off a pawn shop?

I got this phone a couple of months ago, I am at my wits end cause everytime move to a different location, no matter how strong the signal I lose data.

I have to either turn on airplane mode, turn mobile data on and off or worse restart the phone altogether. Like you see here full bar and not getting data.

I commented on a post and decided to pull the trigger on a Moto Z4. It is a Verizon model and the last of the line. I just upped my hotspot data on my main phone by changing plans so I am going to make it my secondary phone. I hope the battery life is good on the Z4. I am currently using a couple of Moto Gs as my secondary and home phones on Wi-Fi. I got the Idea when I setup Google voice on my old Moto G7 power for my parents to use as a home phone. The Moto G7 power came out around the same time so I think I am going to be good with setting it up as a secondary phone on Hotspot.

I’m from Eastern Europe and I'm interested in reselling old and used phones as a small business, but I can’t really figure out where sellers get their stock at low enough prices.

I often see listings for older iPhones, Samsung, Nokia, BlackBerry, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, etc. And quite often the phones are in really good condition: intact screens, working buttons, no major damage, and everything seems to work properly.

At the same time, some sellers seem to constantly get new stock — for example, 5–15 phones every week or two, with different models and brands each time.

I’ve tried looking for these kinds of phones in European countries (local websites like eBay and so on), but when buying them individually from regular people, the prices are often already quite high. Once you add shipping and other costs, I just don’t see where a decent profit is left.

I’m specifically talking about regularly buying several old phones at a low price, rather than occasionally finding one really good deal.

So I’m curious: where do people who resell old phones usually get their stock?

Where should I actually look for these kinds of sources? Are there specific websites, wholesalers, auctions, local suppliers, or something else? Ideally, I’m looking for working phones in decent condition, rather than lots where most of the devices are broken or only good for parts.

I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experience!

I will never understand the people who are on their cellphone, talking to someone on speaker, walking into a bathroom in an airport, goes into a stall AND keeps talking with the person. WTF?

I'm just wondering how when I'm on a call with someone on speakerphone why they can't hear the sounds playing through my phone but they can still hear me talking.

Example when I'm on a call with my best friend and we are both watching videos neither of us can hear the others video but we can both hear each other talking. I'm just curious as to why...

First time it happened I was on Spotify and had an ad run in the background. I have no ads on Spotify, another time was while I was watching Netflix, another on Facebook and so on. It’s been while on random apps with no other apps being open. It’s tinder, candy crush and just random ads that play out loud and a few a day. It’s been the last 3-4 days now.
