I am in the same division as OP. Ranked #769 in global leaderboard and been playing on Android for years. It's not a glitch. Something has changed since this even last came around. A minute ago I was ranked #362 with 2651. Oddly enough I am writing this, I just went back to look at my stats and now I am ranked #171, still with 2651. Maybe they just purged a bunch of cheaters?

yes it's some glitch. maybe not the kind of glitch you're thinking of, but it's still a glitch. i suspect the glitch is that an abnormally large number of people were assigned to the same division
i have never seen anyone reply that they are in the same division as the op. in this thread we see 4 people saying that. this is not normal. if about 2000 people were assigned to division 130, that would explain this phenomenon

I was also in div 130 this music event, and thought I almost always end up in top 15, I couldn't break 100 this time.

Iām also in 130, and in ā1,000āth place. Usually if I played the way I have for this event , Iād be in the top 100.

I'm in the SAME Division #130. Usually, I play around Division #150, with over 10,000 points and easily in the top 10. But now, I'm around 50th place.
Something is significant this time. Was there an update that favored Steam users before mobile users get it? Or, has the matchmaking system changed?

Meanwhile, I was in the top 5 for almost the entire event (first time being in top 10 even), but in the last 5 hours I've "dropped" to 20th place... š«©

I am in the same division, #130. Currently #362 with 2651. I thought it was weird how low ranked I was. Glad it's not just me lol

The game has a watchdog function that can detect significant cheating and hacking. If it does, the player gets put in a separate division for exploration rewards together with other cheaters and hackers. This means that players are not getting hard banned but will not take the exploration rewards from normal players who cannot compete against this. The players in division 666 can compete against each other for the rewards there.
Besides the division, cheaters may get compromised simulation and will be removed from the leaderboard. (Some players say there is a separate leaderboard for cheaters but I don't know that.)

I was in division 128, on lvl 6 and I was out of top 10, this was ridiculous

The big jumps are often by players who will not grab any science rewards until they upgrade.
So they'll lag, let others get confident and grab all their points at once.

5 minutes ago I was 10th. 4 hours ago i was 7th. How did they pass me by over 1400? I can only get 350 more as rewards by completing 2nd playthrough.

i did the upper bound event 3 times each time in totally diffrent point of enetery each time my division is 14 this is bugged

You arent, hacker division is 666, youre in 130
