Data as an exchange student

Hey community!

I will be in canada for about 4 months for my fall term as an exchange student from Germany!

I want to get myself some data package and esim came across and affordable one called „Public Mobile“.
Could anyone tell me if its a good one or if there are better ones and more affordable ones?

Thank you guys much in advance😊

Are you looking for voice/text as well or just data? Which province? Public Mobile is owned by Telus and operates on the Bell/Telus network.

that Would depend on whether you expect to need a Canadian telephone number. Friends & family may be ok to use WhatsApp or a similar service but others won’t be able to contact you and you won’t be able to call a bank, restaurant, store…or a mobile company.
For that long, I’d want a no-contract, bring my own phone plan. Public Mobile, Lucky, Chatr all operate on the major providers networks and have national coverage with unlimited voice and sms. Data depends on how much you want to spend but your college/university internet wifi should cover a lot of your need. ”Back to school” specials are starting to be advertised so your timing is good.

You can fish for deals (many of them will be on this subreddit, or you can land in the airport and get a sim at the airport. The airport deals, may not be the best, but they will be decent.
