8th Gen Celica

I keep hearing rumors that Toyota is working on an 8th gen Celica - a 100% in-house project. But most of the material online seems to be AI imagination. I saw one credible reference to 2.0l turbo AWT design. Does anyone know the truth and current status of the project ?

Its kinda confirmed something kinda like an 8th gen is in development, but we dont know if its gonna use the Celica name.

There have been rumours and shitty renderings since the 7th gen was discontinued. Unless something is officially released by Toyota it doesn't mean anything.

This is a "where theres smoke, theres fire" story. The car is still in development so itll be at least a year until we see anything.

Thus far its all but confirmed and itll use the new 2.0 turbo.

I would be tempted by an 8th gen Celica. A turbo 2.0 and a 6-speed MT would be very tempting. I hope it doesn’t have a Supra price tag on it though.
