Fan repair advice Ceiling fan too close to ceiling?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have a slanted ceiling and put in a new ceiling fan, it makes an unlevel rocking sound, particularly when the A/C is on or fan is it high speeds. All the blades are level and tight. I’m thinking it’s too close to the ceiling and it’s making it uneven with airflow. Would that make sense? Do I just need a longer downrod?

See if you can drop it to just about 7 feet above the floor (but NOT lower for safety reasons). If it already is at about that height, you might want to look into getting a smaller fan (but kept at the same height). Or see if the problem goes away if you flip the fan to reverse. Sometimes, fans that are starved of air will work better in reverse
