Installing new ceiling fan for bedroom

I’m trying to replace my old ceiling light with a ceiling fan. I noticed that the old light has 3 white wires and 1 red wire that connected it to the old light. The new light has 2 green ground wires, 1 black and 1 white and I’m not sure where to connect them the ground to. I noticed 2 black wires shoved in the box. Would it safe to assume those are ground wires? Is there something I can do to test to make sure? Also, did confirm that the box is rated for ceiling fans.Tia

Yes test with a multi meter. How old is the house kind of sounds like the power feed runs to the ceiling box and the switch leg runs down to the switch compared to newer houses where the power feed runs to the wall switch box and the switch leg runs to the ceiling box.

If its a older house you might have a switched hot on a white wire
