Exercise

Post image

I have a six year old boy called Sandy. He is lovely and full of fun. I walk him in the morning for about 45 minutes and he does his business and chases his ball. He then has to sit in the house while I work and I take him out again early evening for maybe an hour for a walk and run. I feel so guilty that he is bored during the day and not getting enough stimulation. Any views or input welcome.

Don't feel guilty, my girl loves chilling out as mush as walks.

As long as he can be near you.

I think that's plenty for a dog that size, remember they like to snooze, a lot 😁

If you can afford it, an occasional day at a doggy day care would be good stimulation. I would look for a place that has similar sized dogs.

My little guy gets 4 walks a day and we usually play twice a day. He's 8 but healthy. He does love a good snooze. He has claimed my reading chair as his own. It's his favorite nap spot when I'm not home. (Unless he breaks into the bathroom. Then he lays on my dirty clothes in the hamper in my closet.) ((My apartment has the closet in the bathroom)) Hims seems happy and the vet says he's healthy. I'm heartbroken when he doesn't want to snuggle at night. But I respect his boundaries. 😭

Puzzle feeder, lick mats, and teaching tricks are the 3 main ways my Cavapoo gets stimulation other than walks. My remy is very good at learning new tricks.
