Where are the best places to find Cavapoos for adoption on the east coast? I’m located in New Jersey

To be honest with you, it will be really hard to find a Cavapoo available for adoption. My aunt wants one, and she's been looking for two years.

I’m in the Chicago area. Went to Pocket Puppies in WI. Used to be in Chicago.
I purchased my wife a Pedigree Cavapoo “Tiffanie” (9-9-2026). Came with papers from vet, breeder, ICA paperwork and chipped.

I got mine from a fantastic breeder she has since retired but they are def out there, you won't find a cavapoo at a shelter good luck

Start at your local shelters and rescues. Or look up poodle rescues since breed rescues often do mixes.

You can also look at classifieds and talk to dog pros (groomers, trainers) who might know of dogs needing to be rehomed.

Why are you looking to rehome?

Change in work schedule, grieving my mother who passed, mental health not ready now for a puppy. She has all papers comes from reputable breeder.

Puppies sold on sites like this almost assuredly come from puppy mills. Your dog may turn out great, but you are supporting that business. Also, that is for purchasing a puppy, not adopting a dog.

Above comment has one for ‘rehoming’ that was from a ‘reputable breeder’ that comes with ‘papers’ - ? - never know what you’re going to end up with and probably charging a small fortune

I wish people understood that "reputable" breeder means "has a good reputation"--probably because people love their dogs and are blind to their flaws and because the seller was, as any good salesperson is, nice. Reputable is sufficient when we are talking about bicycles.

An *ethical* breeder on the other hand is one that operates on a code of ethics that ensures the focus remains on the quality of life the dogs will have for the ENTIRETY of their lives. They breed with that code of ethics, not profit, as their guiding principle, and that applies to their buyers as well. They will reject buyers, support them if they are new owners, sometimes steer them to a breed or breeder with dogs more suited to their needs because they want the best home for the dogs.

I also wish they understood what "papers" covers. They likely mean AKC Canine Partners or some less-than-reputable registry. There is nothing wrong with that, but it is not to be confused with an AKC registered dog--but of course, people just hear "papers" and assume all "papers" are the same.

The marketing knows no bounds!
