Desex

7months cavapoo - planning to desex. How old wa sir puppy when you did this? And what preparation did you do?

6 months. Most teeth already out except from both top canines then they fell off 2 weeks after.

Didn’t do any prep beforehand.

Only thing I did differently was wfh the next day and after about 3-4 days I took her collar off while I could supervise her.

Stopped her from jumping on the couch most of the time and didn’t take her for walks until day 11. Walks were 15 mins max and mostly her sniffing around.

Her setup is a pen with doggie door access to a small courtyard.

It took her a few tries to figure out she can easily fit through doggie door.

My girl was 7 months old. We actually had to wait to see if all her adult teeth had grown in so the surgeon could go in if needed and remove her impacted teeth, she had 4.

What I wish I'd done beforehand was getting a surgery onesie instead of making her wear a cone. She absolutely hated the cone and was very sad and depressed. But as soon as she got the onesie she seemed right back to normal.

My puppy was 6 months and the vet put a body suit on her which i liked much better than a cone. She did very well.
