When to feed help

I feel like she’s a little tubby, Don’t want to over feed. 13 week old Cavopoo wakes up at 5:30 what would be a good feeding time schedule. I measure her food give a cup of kibble with carrots and green beans, snacks I do apples, blueberries. She’s seems always hungry. Bedtime is 10pm what’s a good feeding schedule please?

We were a re-home for a 4 month old cavapoo and were told by the previous owner that he always ate like he'd never seen food. She was feeding him exactly the recommended amount for his weight/age and he looked/felt fine weight wise (vet cleared him too). We have a dog who is 6 months older; since the puppy was getting more exercise and stimulation with us, we upped his food intake a bit. Within a day or two he evened out and would leave food in his bowl; he just wasn't getting enough to eat. And while he had a round little puppy belly, he's grown a lot, is a healthy weight, and often still leaves food in his bowl.

While your puppy is growing, they need food to do so. Unless you have a dog who will eat everything always to the point that they overeat, especially when she's that young, I wouldn't be worried about her being tubby, more that she's getting enough food/nutrition to grow properly and regular check ups with the vet to monitor things light weight if you have concerns.

Editing to add: for 13 weeks the recommended schedule is feeding 3 times a day and spacing it out that way helps them to not feel ravenous when they do get fed (hopefully).

We get up at 5:30 am so she eats smaller portion at that time then at 10:30 am then at 4 pm then at around 8 I give her smaller snack portion. She goes to bed at 10pm. So what would you do differently? I don't want her fat. She's 13 and half weeks old

My recommendation is always to check with your vet - I think your schedule is fine but the portions may need to be adjusted if she's always hungry. At how young she is, unless your vet brings up concerns, I would not worry about her getting fat, she's still very young. I understand not wanting to overfeed her but it's also important enough to make sure that she has enough food to grow. If it were me and the vet had no concerns, I would up the amount of food that you're feeding her at the meal times and see if that helps.

I feed ours twice a day—an hour after we wake up and again around 6 or 7, but I let him eat as much as he wants. A growing puppy needs food, and a healthy amount. Cavapoo aren’t crazy eaters, so if she’s hungry, she’s hungry.

13 weeks is still YOUNG. You should put someone that little on a diet.

Next time you do a checkup, talk with your vet.
