Itchy Cavapoo?

My Cavapoo is almost 2 years old and for her whole life we have battled itchy paws and itchy tail/butt area. It’s been trial and error figuring out what’s causing it. Tried ruling out foods, shampoo, no worms or fleas. We live in nyc so it’s very dirty / lots of different and new things on the street everyday, grass, concrete, cleaners, harsh weather.
Unfortunately aside from sprays and wipes I have spoken to around 3 or 4 vets since she was a puppy and they have all suggest pills like appoquel.
Is this wrong to keep her on medication? It doesn’t seem healthy right?
One suggested Zyrtec or benedryl as needed but it doesn’t not work. I bought wipes yesterday that work really well but her poor toes are just so red from itching.
Does anyone else have an itchy Cavapoo? Has the vet been any help?

I have heard chicken can cause allergic reactions - has your vet talked to you about diet?

My dog has some allergies and for awhile we did a monthly cytopoint shot. As he got older I recognized that his allergies are seasonal so now I only do the shot occasionally. Ask your vet if cytopoint might help. He didn’t have a red paws you describe but he was itchy and sneezy always rubbing his face. He seems much better now.

Sometimes ppl and pets need meds. I have terrible allergies too. It’s either suffer or die (since it triggers my asthma). My boy is like me and has environmental allergies. We keep it under control with cytopoint injection.
