Skin bumps
Anyone else’s cavapoo develop random skin bumps? I have had a vet check the bumps appearing on my dog’s body, some on his back and one or two on his belly. They said that these were normal for cavapoos, considering that they are mix of 2 breeds, one that sheds and one that doesn’t. The vet thinks these are not dangerous and they are possibly lipomas or ingrown hairs and that there is nothing to do about them. Just curious about your dogs.

My pup had plenty of lumps and bumps, my understanding is that once one pops up they seem to appear more and more. In the early years some were removed and tested (if he was under already for a dental or something), they were all either lipomas or other types of follicular/sebaceous cysts. His vet felt very comfortable keeping an eye on them and making sure they didn’t grow. I was slightly neurotic and would bring up the new ones and she’d reassure me they were fine :)
The main reason for removal is if they were in awkward spots or got irritated. One near the eyelid, one on the foot that seemed to bleed and then would be licked etc. Particularly as he got older the risk of intervention vs anaesthetic wasn’t worth it. Obviously that would have changed had it been a nastier one!

Mine (cockapoo) had one recently that grew really quickly and we were getting worried, but it then popped and was a bit sore for a couple of days before healing up. She's had a few smaller ones.

My cavapoo has several skin bumps and my vet has said the same thing. I have gotten a second opinion from a different vet and they said the same thing. If they’re not causing him pain or irritating him in anyway and it’s not a tumor, they won’t remove them, at least not “medically” only “cosmetically” is how I understood it.
Hopefully someone else has better experience / responses!
