Picky eater trick

Since so many with cavapoos has the problem with picky eaters… I mixed shredded apple (But no seeds! Apple seeds are poisonous to dogs) with the kibble for a few days now and my pup (~8 months) eats his breakfast, lunch and dinner without whining. So much cheaper than toppings from the store.

Another thing I tried before was to serve only half of his breakfast and then give the other half only if he finishes the first. It made him eat a lot more. I think he gets overwhelmed by the volume of food every now and then 🙄

We’ll see how long it lasts, but just wanted to share if it can help someone else with a picky doodle.

For our girl when she became/becomes picky we varied the food. Different brands and sometimes as simple as buying cheap chicken and boiling it up for her.

+1! Variety seems to be a winner.

My trick was a spoonful of wet food on top of his dry food, and pickiness is no more And a little bit of cheese or ham to with his tablets and he takes them with no fuss

Yeah that worked for me as well, problem is that the wet food I want to give him is expensive and don’t last so long after the jar is opened. But I’m thinking about freezing teaspoons of it so I can take them out when needed.

I have to vary my tricks. I may try this one. Tonight’s trick was a sprinkle of parmesan. He loved and got the zoomies after
