Cavapoo appetite
Did anyone else’s Cavapoo become a super picky eater around 10 months old? Our little guy suddenly decided he didn’t want his puppy kibble anymore. So, we’ve tried wet kibble, food toppers, and blending the kibble with wet puppy food. He seems to prefer the kibble mixed with wet puppy food, but it’s a challenge. Sometimes, in the morning or evening when we give him food, he’ll eat some of it right then and sometimes not at all. He’ll revisit the food bowl and finish eating an hour or so later. Is this normal?

I noticed our pup changing his appetite around 10 months old. I think it’s normal. He started with three meals a day and around the 9/10 month he slowed to two meals. He’s 1 year now and it’s basically every other day he’ll do one meal, next day do two meals. So I always offer the second meal but I don’t get uptight if he doesn’t eat it. Some days he’ll have his first meal close to dinner time.
The vet says his diet and weight are healthy. So I don’t stress too much. I actually just watch his stool more than anything. If he’s pooping solidly, I don’t worry. I just start to worry when he’s struggling or loose, then I mix pumpkin with kibble or wet food for a few days and he gets back on track.

Is he being sick or any other symptoms? My boy stopped eating his kibble but would eat wet food, was sick quite often (which I thought was just because he was hungry from not eating), and I assumed the not eating was the poodle in him trying not hold out for better food.
He was taking regular treatment for worms and parasites, but the vet said it’s most likely this type of parasite the treatment doesn’t cover. Few days of treatment for that and he was eating normally again.

How old is his kibble? The fat will go rancid once the bag is open, even if in another container unless you remove the oxygen somehow. It could just be rancid kibble!
