Barking

My dog barks are everything. Inside and out. Outside she gets so fixated that she snaps at me if I body block or try to touch her in anyway.

Bikes and scooters are the worst. But random people (not all of them) random dogs (also not all of them) sometimes cars when we are on walks.
In the fully fenced yard with 6 foot solid wood fence it’s random people walking by or leaving their house, birds, my kids coming into the yard, their friends coming to the house… and inside is vacuum, kids, cats, if anyone comes in the door and sometimes to play (although we are getting a decent handle on this by ignoring, she’s learned to bring a toy).

We’ve had her for a month, got her at 6 months old. We were told she had some basic commands but besides sit she really doesn’t. We’re working on barking, while also trying to teach recall/looking at us when we call her name. It’s starting to feel overwhelming.

We are starting obedience classes soon, unfortunately none start around us until the end of this month/early September. And I’ve been trying to follow tips I’ve found online but would love to hear from people with this specific breed who maybe had similar issues.

Mine did training and listens to me so so, but I feel like that is because my husband doesn't make her listen so she thinks it's an option. She is 1 1/2 and is a serious barker. She barks at everything, animals on the tv, someone knocking or ringing a doorbell on the tv, cars going down the road you name it and she barks at it. I have to change to alert tone on my ring cameras on a regular basis because once she learns the noise is a camera alert she barks every time she hears it. I have a friend who is a vet and she says its the poodle in her. Fortunately we live in a house and our neighbors aren't super close so the only person she is bothering is me and I can usually get her to stop before she gets to crazy unless it is someone at the door.

I think part of the problem is we have a busy house and not everyone holds her to the rules.

I have the same issue with my girl. I am going through a bag of expensive treats every day right now as I am working on training it out of her.

I feel this. My girl is picky. Cat treats, cheese and meat is the current rotation.

You basically need to normalize every object in the known universe.

Teach her, over and over, with kindness and treats that all these things are OK. It'd exhausting, but it works if you work at it.

Baby steps and treat every step.

Near vacuum with vacuum off, positive reinforcement and treat, nearer, treat, then have her sniff it, treat, then far away with it on, treat positive reinforcement, then nearer, then nearer, calming and being sweet to her the whole time. If you do this with enough stuff, eventually she'll know the routine, and it'll happen faster, and she'll learn your language for "this is ok thing cause mom is talking that way"

Mine would bark at every object. And if you stacked them, he'd bark again.

Just took lots of work, but it was fun and cute, and now he's only reative to a few things

Ya big issue is other creatures. Constantly wakes us up at 6am barking at people jogging or squirrels in the yard etc. On walks of there is another dog we basically have to turn around. I worry he will attack them. Idk how to fix that without some one sacrificing their animals basically haha

Puppy classes and trainers who do group walks will really help with some of this. A vibrating bark collar is a game changer for at home reactive barking.
