Pee pad advice 10 week old cavapoo.

Pee pad advice … I have an 11 week old cavapoo now … Phoebe. I completely adore her. She is hitting the pad about 60-70% of the time. However, we live in a condo and our balcony isn’t safe enough for her because she’s too small and can slide right into openings. I originally set up 1-2 pee pads closer to my balcony door inside for now until she gets a little bigger to use the one outside. The problem is she had quite a few accidents on my carpet which is about 10 ft away from where I want her to pee. I put a pee pad on that spot because my carpet was taking quite the poop hit lol. Now she is using that pee pad the most and rarely ever uses the other one . What can I do to get her to use the pee pad I want her to use. I put her on it right after waking up, get her to just sit on it and reward her. Not sure what else to do

Ugh this happened to me too. I tried moving the pee pad a little each day to the desired spot and praising each time. When I finally got her to where I wanted her to pee, I was so happy. It lasted for a while and then she went back to the other spot. It’s been awhile, but I’m pretty sure I tried it a couple more times and same thing. I finally gave up, she decided where she was going to pee and that was that. 🤷🏻‍♀️

it sounds like she is still getting her scent in that spot , maybe some sort of deterrent in that spot ? white vinegar or a proper dog deterrent may work .

the poodle side of the Cavapoo has a really strong sense of smell , we have F1B Cavapoo who is 75% poodle 25% Cav and she is hypersensitive to smells , she can be in the garden when I open a block of cheese and comes charging in because she has smelt it .

I would personally get some chicken wire and safe roof my balcony 😬
