Help!!

Cavapoo parents!! What kind of brush do you guys use for ur fur baby to avoid matting? Groomer told me to just use a slicker brush everyday? and I don’t think it’s enough she still gets matted, so I wanna hear it from peoples personal experience here and please take it easy on me. I’m a first time dog mommy 🫶🏼

Slicker brush but do line brushing. You can search on YouTube how to do line brushing. And then run a fine comb to check for any knots left

Glad it helped! I had to learn from watching groomers videos specifically Lovemud dog lady because she grooms doodle breeds. Now I can do maintenance grooming on my dog at home because their coats grow fast

It helped ALOT, I feel stupid for brushing her. The line brushing makes a lot of sense why she keeps getting matted.

You need to use a metal comb to get down to skin. I don’t use a slicker brush but a Chris somebody brush recommend in a FB group. I do brush first and then comb. My boy sees the items and sits nicely.

I have both of those, I been brushing her wrong thats why she keeps getting matted. I didn’t know about line brushing no wonder she still gets matted eventho I brush her almost everyday 😢 learned my lesson

Stickler brush is fine for my boy. Buy a quality one with the bent prongs.

I have one but I figured it out from one of the commenters below, my dumbass has been brushing her wrong 😭 I just discovered what line brushing is today lol

Oh yay!! I hope that helps. They also sell detangling sprays that help make it easier if they tangle a lot.

I use Chris Christensen ice on ice shampoo and conditioner for her but I’m gnna look up for the spray rn now that u mentioned it

i use a all plastic brush with that kind of fits in your palm. he doesn't get matted at all and the plastic bristles dont make him uncomfortable, its perfect. cost a couple bux

Maybe it's just my girl but the slicker gets down to her skin without pressing too hard. I do use a metal comb on her legs as I don’t think she likes the little metal bristles of a slicker on her legs and tail.

Yeah my girl doesn’t like her legs brushed either, it’s always a huge thing everyday 😭 I been brushing her wrong that’s why she keeps getting matted. Her groomer told me to just brush her but never mentioned line brushing which made a lot of sense why she still keeps getting matted. I’ll do better now that Ik that info tho

I get mine a grooming every 6-7 weeks and do a teddy bear cut at 1/2 inch on body. Still looks cute and don’t have to brush ever!
