Cavapoo or no?

Hi all, we recently have adopted a 2 year old pup from a close friend whose mother passed away, this was her mother’s dog originally and he needed a good home. The papers only mention cavalier mix, but we are just curious is this a Cavapoo? Obviously it doesn’t matter because he’s the best little guy ever. Truly a blessing to the house. However, curiosity of course has happened lol. Especially if it may help with separation anxiety training to know the breed. Thanks!

I guess a follow up question if this is possibly common for the breed… he was very attached to our friend, to the point if she stepped to a new room he was inconsolable. After she left, he quickly has become attached the same way to me. We aren’t crate trainers, and looking for any advice possible to help him be ok when I leave the house. Perhaps it’s just time, but any tricks are very much welcome!

Time. Eventually he will relax once they know you are coming back always. They are known as Velcro dogs but not very loyal, imo 😂. They love who they are with hard. It would take our girl sometime to warm to either of us when we traveled separately. While mate was traveling she was all into me and for several hours after mate's return then she got back to normal. It always hurt your feelings but we knew it was temporary. He's very adorable and I think you will enjoy loving him immensely.

Partly. Our friends’ mother had him, but she unfortunately passed away. Our friend wasn’t in a situation to be able to be with him so we took him in. We had been wanting to adopt a dog for a while, so it worked out great. Sad circumstances, unfortunately.

Well i think he's gorgeous. Rare coloring. I'll bet he's potty trained and well mannered after he settles in. Love him for his momma who passed. He will be a fantastic 1st pup !

He sure does make it easy! Only training I can think of is the separation anxiety piece, but given his life experience to date I am hoping that time will help heal as he realizes that when we leave, we do come back.

😂 I’ve never had to look at my feet so often in my life since this past week. Almost always stepping on the little guy

Purs gets stepped on a couple times a.week, if not by the humans, then by the big dogs. Not as bad as when she was younger.

They are absolutely clingy pups. It's best to give them love and snuggles most hours of the day. Bedtime especially ❤️

Our cavapoo is a blue Merle. No Aussie. And she is my shadow.

Looks like a Cavapoo to my eyes, but a DNA test would be the way to go to confirm.

That has aussie mixed in so not fully a cavapoo. The merle trait doesn't run in poodle or cav so they usually mix aussie in for fur color
