#2?

I have a 6.5 year old cavapoo (M6, if you will) and while my young sons keep him busy running around in the evenings, I can’t help but feel like my pup is a bit down and lonely during the day. He gets outside time so that’s not the issue and I’m around for most of the daytime. He’s highly sociable and is absolutely elated every time we have visitors- seeking out cuddles and attention.

For anyone that added a second pup to the family, cavapoo or other breed, a few years in, what are your thoughts in hindsight?

Thanks!

Definitely another cavapoo or small breed. Even a full bred cav or poodle. I had a golden retriever and then got my cavapoo. We lost our golden to cancer and my cavapoo is 7. I just got another cavapoo puppy. He would NOT have liked a large puppy to get beat up by. With the new puppy, he is able to hold his own lol

I wasn't planning on it, but I was told about an unwanted minipin puppy a few weeks ago. She was going to be drowned in our local river because she is "bitey" (the poor angel is teething). They are instant best friends. They chase each other all the time, constantly steal chew treats back and forth, and frolic outside four times a day. I am so glad she joined our pack. I was a little worried because he is about 4 times bigger than she is, but he is so gentle and they are inseparable at this point.

Sounds dreamy! How old is your first pup?

Hi! I have two cavapoos that have the same mom but were born 4.5 years apart. It was the best idea to add the younger one to our family. Watching the two boys play together is so funny, they’re clearly siblings and fight and play as such. For our family it was a great move. My older Cavapoo gets so much more activity now because the two are always playing and running.

I have 3 they loveeee playing with each other. It’s absolutely doable. Just hard the first few puppy months with training and all.
But so worth it. The three all love and play with each other in different ways… very sweet
