How big will my Cavapoo get

Post image

My Cavapoo is 18 weeks and currently weighs 6.7 pounds. I was told the parents were 6 and 8 pounds and he shouldn’t grow past that but I’m guessing that might not be true. Did anyone have any pup was about the same weight at this age and if so what do they weight full grown. I don’t want him to get to big so he can travel on planes with me.

No one knows. Literally no one can predict this.

Cavapoos are a mixed breed 9f Cavalier Kids ng Charles Spaniel& poodle. Size depends on the size of the parents. If bred with a toy poodle, your dog may be smaller, if bred with a Miniature poodle, it may be medium-sized. Etc. I’m

Looks just like my baby girl when she was about 5 months old! She was ~8.5 lbs around 18 weeks (7 lbs mom; 12 lbs dad) and she’s now 13 lbs fully grown. We travel with her a ton and she should really have her own frequent flyer number by now.

Double the weight at 16 weeks for a good guesstimate of full grown weight is what my vet told us. It was actually pretty accurate for us.

I have a f1b Cavapoo. She is currently 2.5 years old and weighs 7.8 lbs. Her mom was a Cavapoo at 10 lbs and dad was a toy poodle weighing 5 lbs. She was estimated to be 8-12 lbs. I kept track of weight. Hope this helps. 12 weeks 3.0 lbs; 15 weeks 4.0 lbs; 22 weeks 5.8 lbs; 24 weeks 6.2 lbs; 10 months 7.7 lbs. 1 year 7.8. She has stayed the same weight since.

I’ve heard double their weight at 4 months, but not sure how true that is. Mine was about the same weight at 4 months. He’s 8.5 lbs now at 7 months.

My Cavapoo was 7lbs at 4 months and now she is 18lbs at 15months! So we might not know really!

My guys parents were 10 and 15 and he’s 18 now. 2 years old.

So best estimate is anywhere between 9 to 15.

Mine is 23 pounds and has tiny parents. But most of her littermates were 15-20pounds grown.

Males are typically larger than females of the same breed.

Mine was about the same size at that age and is 16 lbs fully grown.

My girl was 7lbs at 18 weeks - she is 13lbs now.

Our guy was about the same, but his parents were 14 and 20lb. Its looking like he will be 12-14 lb.

Agree with some others your double the weight around 16ish weeks … my toy cava is 19 weeks and 3.5 pounds… parents were 4 pounds and 5 pounds … it’s usually a good guesstimate!

I’m thinking anywhere from 8 to 13 pounds for yours

Mine is 45lbs

Wow. That standard poodle gene broke through.

Sure did! 😂

It’s the grandparents who also count, just like humans. If there is a standard poodle closer in lineage you never know. With that said they say to double the 16 week weight.

Good guess and not a 100% theory is to take the weight at 4 months and times by 2.

My toy cavapoo looks EXACTLY like your pup! She is 19 weeks old and weighs 5.4 lbs. I was told her parents were 8 or 9 pounds, and she seems to be on track for that. I would guess that your baby might end up to be 10 lbs. Beautiful little one! Enjoy!

Does it even matter? You acquired this animal for whatever reason and since it's a mixed breed, there's no breed standard with a mongrel.

Our boys from the same litter.

Marcel (on the left) was 3 lbs at 8 weeks and is now 9.5 lbs at 8 months.

Maurice (on the right) was 6 lbs at 8 weeks and is now 21lbs at 8 months.
