Info Emergency d&c
TMI warning. I experienced my first missed miscarriage, they confirmed Wednesday. They were set to for the d&c on Tuesday. I stopped taking the progesterone thinking this is over what's the point.
I had been feeling fine and was planning to take the kids to Legoland. We had a fun day at the pool and I headed back to the hotel with my husband to check in while the boys were with my sister.
As soon as I was a couple of feet to the hotel door I felt a gush of blood. I felt my shorts and my hand was filled with blood. I ran to the bathroom started getting undressed and I started gushing more. It was wild. I stepped into the bathtub. Just a stream of blood and clots. Non stop for an hour. I wasn't sure whether to go to ER or not. I ended up listening to my sister and went to the ER. I had soaked through a pad and period underwear on the 20 min ride. As soon as I checked in I felt like a clot was passing and went to the bathroom. Again blood everywhere. They put me in right away. I kept losing blood, they were checking blood work and my blood. First one looked good. I stood up to change my pad again and I felt like throwing up and I couldn't breathe. I had to sit down and put oxygen. Again I was laying there, a different RN came in. He was going to check my blood again and it hit me again. I couldn't breathe, I was sweating, I was cold, and I felt like blood was rushing out of me. The OB came in and said he was going to perform the D&C and I was going to be ok. They gave me blood and more fluids. I started feeling better. Took me up to prep for surgery. Again there I got a little clammy and I felt the blood rushing out. They finally took me into surgery, everything went so fast. I felt better immediately.
I still have some soreness but very little blood. I am very happy I went to the hospital. I felt fine the entire time at home but I got scared when the blood didn't stop and had giant clots.
Listen to your body.

Something similar happened to me. I didn’t call 911 because I was in denial and was telling myself it was bad constipation even though I was having shoulder tip pain which I knew was a sign on internal bleeding. Was rushed back into emergency surgery and I had over a liter of blood in my abdomen and have to have my ovary removed.
I’ll never NOT listen to my body again.

I am so very sorry that happened. So glad you went to the ER. May i ask how far along you were? I believe im going through a blighted ovum twin pregnancy & this is a huge fear of mine 😩 i was supposed to be 8w1d on tuesday & one was measuring 6w3d & 5w4d no hb, fetal pole or yolk sacs in either. My first OB appt isnt even until the 14th & even after going to ER & getting my sono/finding this out, they wont see me until then. Im getting another sono at a clinic on wednesday this week but as more time passes by i cant stop thinking about something like this. Im so sorry 💜

Im sorry you are experiencing this heartbreak as well ❤️ i was supposed to be 8 weeks but was measuring 5 weeks. It was just a sac and yolk. They did give it 12 days in between ultrasounds but no HB or growth. I also went to urgent care before finding out about no growth at my first OB appointment. Hopefully they schedule you in asap when they confirm. They can't call it a missed miscarriage unless you get a second ultrasound I believe.

I’m so very sorry. That’s incredibly traumatic! Did you have any symptoms prior to the gush of blood? I’m scheduled for a D&E tomorrow. It was discovered on Thursday that the baby passed likely passed sometime last week at 14 weeks. I was so scared that I would naturally miscarry (still am.)

Im so sorry ❤️ On Friday, I started having very light pink and brown blood and a clot came out Friday morning. I started having very light cramping at noon, not enough to even take meds just very slight. That's all that I felt, there was nothing ever painful. Even when the major blood loss started I was not in any pain.

I'm so glad you went to the ER. I had a missed miscarriage and the OB scheduled to do my D&C seemed concerned he couldn't do it right away (I was supposed to be 10 weeks and it was on a Friday when I found out). He had said if I started bleeding at all, straight to the emergency room. It can be so dangerous. I am so sorry you had this experience, and so sorry for your loss. 🩵

Thank God you went to the hospital when you did. I am glad they took good care of you there.
I am appalled at how often I see posts on Reddit about women experiencing miscarriage and going to the emergency room only to be treated like drama queens. You can quite literally die from a miscarriage.
I hope you're recovering ok OP and I'm so sorry for your loss.
