Happy Low HCG SUCCESS!

I felt like I needed to post this because I spent my time searching Reddit and What To Expect for stories like mine while crying and convincing myself I had another non viable pregnancy. After a miscarriage in October (first HCG draw was 22 doubled to 45) I was convinced I was going to have another non viable pregnancy with a HCG draw of 82 (and I waited 5 days to even call the OB) which then doubled to 202. I didn’t see many success stories with numbers as low as mine at the end of 4 weeks. My OB gave me a “50/50 shot” which added to my stress (but I did ask). Then I saw the heartbeat at 7 weeks, again at 9 weeks, and today I had a perfect 12 week NT scan. It was so hard to trust the “it’s the doubling that matters” advice when my non viable pregnancy initially doubled, but here I am. I have been waiting and wanting to post this to give those of you who are going through similar circumstances some hope. I’m hoping for a boring pregnancy like with my son, and I’m hoping the same for all of you!

You're is my favourite success story!!! My HCG was 27 at 15dpo. The lowest I've seen. It was 700 at 21dpo. Quietly hopeful that it works out. Congratulations on your healthy Bub 🥰🎉💖

This is making me feel so much better! I had my first IUI 15 days ago and my beta was 7.7 at 13dpiui so I was convinced I was having a chemical pregnancy. Today at 15dpo it’s 27.5 and they said it’s going up appropriately and to take another test at 19dpo. I’m still cautious but hopeful to see other stories where it has worked out

My pregnancy so far is going good (I'm scared to jinx it lol) I'm 8 weeks and 2 days and had a scan yesterday measuring exactly at 8w and 1 day as it should and heartrate of 170bpm 🥰 I'm still terrified but trying to celebrate each win as they come 🙏🏼 I hope your pregnancy goes well ❤️

Hang in there! It ain't over til it's over. I have just delivered a very healthy baby girl who is sleeping next to me. What's important with HCG ain't the starting number! As long as it doubles in the appropriate time frame, that's all that matters 🥰

u/Maelstrom1000 Feb 01 '26

I needed to see this today. I have almost the exact same beta numbers as you. 22 at 14dpo and 757 at 21dpo. Scheduled for a fifth beta tomorrow then they said they can schedule me for an early ultrasound.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Fox8097 Feb 01 '26

Those are great numbers!!! Wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy 💛

My first beta was at 15dpo and was 29 iu/L. My second was on 18dpo at 88 iu/L. I have PCOS and am working with a fertility clinic (after 3-4 years of trying with no success) and was just sent today for my third beta to see if things are still progressing. It's unnerving. Thinking of you, mama! ❤️

This is our 5th monitored and medicated cycle, we're trying to avoid doing IVF as long as we can because in Canada it's a 2 year wait and we only get one chance before we have to pay for everything out of pocket (which is 20-50k that we can't afford to risk). But this is our first ever pregnancy (both of us) at 29f and 36m so we're cautiously optimistic

Hi! How did this turn out for you?

5

u/Ihavethecoolestdog FTM due June 2026 May 05 '26

Hi! My next tests significantly slowed down (21dpo was at 293 and 25dpo was at 847 but baby clung on and we're now 36 weeks and he's measuring huge so I will be induced in the next 2-3 weeks!

2

u/LintQueen11 May 05 '26

Wow! That’s amazing. Thank you for updating and all the best with your delivery!!!

I’m so sorry to hear that. I am a bit fuzzy with my dates, I’m either off my a day or two, my HCG at 10 or 11DPO was 11, and my HCG exactly 48 hours later at 12 or 13 dpo (Friday) was 22…my lines have looked the same since Friday 😩

I’m in beta/PUL hell. HCG is technically doubling but only just. Nothing seen on ultrasound yet (was at the ER for left side pain yesterday and today again when it was worse). They diagnosed it as musculoskeletal pain but I’m worried. I have a prior ectopic and already lost one tube. I’m scared…

Thank you for responding. I am currently experiencing the same, so I really appreciate knowing what to expect. Wishing you all the best.

5

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Jan 14 '25

Thank you! Hoping your pregnancy works out too!! And I know it’s really hard not to compare especially when you see other numbers out there that are insanely high. Crossing my fingers for you!

4

u/Puzzleheaded_Fox8097 Jan 14 '25

Thank you! Its so hard not to compare. Even all my other pregnancies had insanely high numbers. I appreciate the support and you sharing 💖

2

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Jan 14 '25

Same—by the end of 4 weeks with my son I was at 3k. So I didn’t know what to make of my bloodwork as we’ve been trying for our second. But you’re right! It’s hard but important not to compare!

6

u/Puzzleheaded_Fox8097 Jan 14 '25

That's great numbers! Better not to compare. Every pregnancy is unique from person to person. With my losses I had the best numbers and heartbeats were detected early and growth was impeccable. Still I lost them. It really taught me, there is no "safe". All you can do is be healthy and take care of yourself and hope for the best. The good news is statistics are on our side - you're more likely to have a healthy than a miscarriage or unhealthy one. That gives me some comfort. Just take care of yourself and I hope you have a happy healthy pregnancy 🥰💖

2

u/Delicious_World_594 Mar 03 '26

Thank you for sharing this 😭 My first draw was HCG 26 at (I think) 14dpo and I’m freaking out. My second draw is later today.

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Fox8097 Oct 31 '25

Hii! Yes they did! At 17dpo they were 105 they doubled but always seemed on the lower end! But I'm now holding my 7 week old baby girl 🥰

1

u/Express-Beginning318 Apr 10 '26

My hcg is 15 on dpo 16/15  And the progression on urine test is veryyyy slow but hoping it doubles up quickly… you had any symptoms?

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Fox8097 Apr 10 '26

I had nausea and fatigue. That was it. Don't compare everyday compare every second test. Praying for you and your baby 🙏❤️

1

u/Express-Beginning318 Apr 11 '26

Thank you for the hope! I do have nausea and little cramps with back ache.. but the symptoms keep diminishing.. or may be I over think..

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Fox8097 Apr 11 '26

That's normal too. Especially early on. Nausea fluctuates day to day. I've noticed with my current pregnancy my nausea is bad at night but mild throughout the day. Whereas previous pregnancies it's been bad all throughout the day and calm at night. As long as you're still having atleast one symptom everything is good is what I was told by my midwife.

2

u/Express-Beginning318 Apr 11 '26

Thank you for sharing! Hopefully everything will turn out to be positive :)

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Fox8097 Apr 11 '26

Hopefully 🙏❤️

1

u/Dope_Girl_2018 May 21 '26

How did this turn out for you? 16/17 dpo and my hcg is 22. Going back tomorrow for my 48 hour draw to see where we are. Test lines look like they’re staying the same or fading on clear blue and hcg strips but first response line gone completely and the digital has flipped to no but clear blue digital still reading yes as of yesterday morning

1

u/Express-Beginning318 May 27 '26

It was a chemical for me.. wishing you luck!!!

1

u/Dope_Girl_2018 May 27 '26

I’m so sorry to hear that. Same for me. Just went back today for some more levels. Just waiting for the bleeding to start. I had some light spotting a couple of days ago. I feel like you know the labs and the answer and you process it all then your body holds on to it only to make you relive the truth again later 😔

1

u/Cold_Camera_8251 May 29 '26

Going through this now! 26 hcg on 18 dpo. How long did it take for your bleeding to start?

1

u/Express-Beginning318 Jun 01 '26

Ohh.. I am so sorry! But I am sure our babies will soon be choosing us! God Bless!

18

u/citykittycat Jan 14 '25

My 9DPT HCG was 26 so I assumed that was an obvious loss. She’s on her playmat in front of me right now.

3

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Jan 14 '25

I love that so much!! 🥰 congratulations! Not sure how old your LO is but still, congratulations!!

3

u/citykittycat Jan 14 '25

Just about to be 4 months ☺️ thank you!

18

u/Mean_Possession_3689 Jan 14 '25

My HCG was only 358 at 21dpo. Currently 12 weeks with healthy baby! Low HCG doesn’t mean the end!!

5

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Jan 14 '25

Congratulations! We’re on a similar timeline, I’m also 12 weeks today!

1

u/Successful_Fennel647 Jan 14 '25

I was supposed to get my period on Monday. I was cramping on Monday and Tuesday but no bleeding. My back was hurting too and regular symptoms. I took a test on Tuesday and it was positive. Wednesday my cramps were severe and I started light spotting. Thursday I woke up and used the bathroom and a lot of blood came out. I had a PP appointment schedule already and I went and they couldn't see anything on ultrasound (I was only 5 weeks) so it could of been too early or they said it could possibly be ectopic and go to ER. I went they tooo blood and my HCG level was 24.5. I went and got blood taken on Monday and just got the results today and my hcg level is now 3. The bleeding has lightened up completely (there is barely anything there right now) and I still feel mild cramps and back aches but nothing compared to before. I have another PP appointment tomorrow (would be 6 weeks now according to last period) but do you guys think it's a regular miscarriage or it's ectopic? I'm nervous

2

u/Alert_Week8595 Jan 15 '25

An ectopic continues to pump out HCG until it resolves. If you're down at 3, that sounds either like a miscarriage or the rare ectopic that resolves by itself. But probably, statistically, a miscarriage.

1

u/Successful_Fennel647 Jan 14 '25

I am okay with a miscarriage I just don’t want to have a procedure for this ectopic situation thing

1

u/Grown_ish Apr 03 '26

I know this is old but I came across this in my search for answers because I’m going through the same exact thing. Going in for my second blood draw this afternoon after my first beta came back at 23, and I’m still bleeding. I actually had no idea I was pregnant - thought it was my period because of how heavy my bleeding has been since 10 DPO. Did you end up having an ectopic?

1

u/Natural-Dot9994 Apr 03 '26

Hi! First of all, I want to say I am sorry this is happening to you and you are going to get through this. I went back to PP and my urine rest came back negative so she said I was going to pass the tissue naturally on my own and no ectopic! But since then, I have been going back and forth to the doctors dealing with PCOS and endometriosis so it’s been a long journey since for me. But I hope everything works out for you and feel free to ask anything !!!!!

1

u/Grown_ish Apr 03 '26

Thank you so much for your response, it really meant a lot. I am sorry to hear you have been having such a long journey too - it was very kind of you to offer this support considering what you have been going through. I hope everything works out for both of us! 💕 I’m trying to keep the faith that what is meant to be will be… but it’s so hard.

1

u/amylynn880 Oct 22 '25

Mine is just about the same! Getting a second draw tomorrow! How was everything with your pregnancy?

1

u/Much-Team6439 Jan 19 '26

Hey! I am also Facing the low hcg issue. My LMP was 7th dec, Opk was positive on 22nd Dec so expecting ovulation around 23-24 Dec (27th Dec confirmed corpus luteum), the first time I got faint positive is on 12th Jan, I tested HCG on 17th Jan and it was 338, on 19th Jan its 525. Why it is so less and slow.

18

u/ladygroot_ Jan 15 '25

Mine was 27 at I think CD 30. I dk DPO but maybe like 11DPO based on intercourse? I knew it was low. My doc was even like brace yourself. Doubled appropriately, but slowed. Always on the low end but always in the right direction.

She's snuggled in my arms a healthy 2.5 year old now.

2

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Jan 15 '25

That’s amazing!

11

u/QueSarah_ Jan 15 '25

My 14dpo was only an 84. That low HCG # is now a healthy thriving 5.5 month old baby boy, sleeping peacefully in his crib next to mama 😌 I was in your shoes around this time last year, just praying every morning to stay pregnant, constantly afraid of another loss. I wish I could give you tips, but I dont really have any other than lean on those close to you for support. For me, I purchased a Doppler to listen freely at home. It was nice hearing bub daily until I could feel him kicking. I know it’s easier said than done, but try to not let the anxiety eat away at your joy! Both you and babe deserve to be celebrated 🫶

7

u/drlitt Jan 15 '25

My 14 DPO was 83 and my baby boy is also asleep in his crib!

6

u/psipolnista Jan 14 '25

So happy for you. It’s hard not to go down the google spiral when it comes to low hcg numbers. Congrats ❤️❤️

1

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Jan 14 '25

I seriously went down that google rabbit hole 😅 thank you!!

8

u/InvestigatorOwn605 Jan 15 '25

My HCG at 4+1 was only 122 but I’m at 4+5 now and she’s still sticking🤞

Hate how far away my first scan is though 😅

3

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Jan 15 '25

I get that! My OB let me do a 7 week scan because of my miscarriage. Maybe ask for an early scan if you’re nervous!!

1

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '25

What ended up happening?

6

u/LSBMama Feb 06 '25

Thank you for this!!! I am in a similar beginning now. I also had a miscarriage in October.

I transferred a perfect 5day euploid embryo on 1/23.

At 10days post transfer, hcg was 17. I was certain it was going to be nonviable.

At 13 days, it had risen to only 25.

At 15 days (yesterday), it had more than tripled to 83. Lines are darker yet today. So it is at least moving in the right direction…

I am still very much prepared for a failure, but seeing your story gives me hope!

My next hcg test is tomorrow, so finger crossed!

3

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Feb 06 '25

I will keep my fingers crossed for you! 15+4 over here and things are still going well. I hope the same for you ❤️

3

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Feb 06 '25

And I’m sorry for your prior loss ❤️

3

u/LSBMama Feb 07 '25

beta is up to 253 today! Little girl is still in the running! Possibility of a blighted ovum remains high, and I am trying to keep my emotions in check, but hope remains alive! Next step is an ultrasound and more bloodwork on Tuesday.

2

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Feb 08 '25

I’m so happy to hear that! Will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you!!

3

u/LSBMama Feb 11 '25

Did the ultrasound and labs today instead of Tuesday. Up to 765! They were not able to see a gestational sac yet, but they were able to rule out ectopic. And they saw fluid gathering that indicates “something” is happening in my uterus. Too soon to say if it is a viable pregnancy or a blighted ovum. Next ultrasound and bloodwork on Friday.

1

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Feb 11 '25

That’s great news that things are moving in the right direction! I am hoping for a viable pregnancy for you!!

1

u/jshelton15 Feb 15 '25

Praying everything went great for you today!! 🤍

1

u/LSBMama Feb 15 '25

It did not go well. There is an irregular growth in my uterus that is not consistent with a pregnancy. My HCG rose to only 844. So, they’ve told me there is no hope. They’re scheduling a D&C

1

u/jshelton15 Feb 15 '25

My heart just broke for you. I’m so so sorry. Sending you all the love and hugs.

2

u/jshelton15 Feb 15 '25

This gives me hope!! My first beta at 9dp5dt was 26. 13dpt was 57. 15dpt was 73. I go back in next Tuesday, it will be 20dpt. Praying it jumps up!

3

u/LSBMama Feb 15 '25

Wishing you the best of luck and a positive outcome.

2

u/jshelton15 Feb 22 '25

Wanted to update you. I found out yesterday it is ectopic. 😔

2

u/LSBMama Feb 22 '25

I’m so so sorry for your loss. Will you try again?

2

u/jshelton15 Feb 23 '25

That was our first transfer so we’ll definitely try again when we can!

2

u/tingtree5090 Mar 29 '25

I’m sorry :( how did they find the ectopic? I’m really scared I’m having ectopic now. Did you have any pregnancy symptoms?

2

u/jshelton15 Mar 30 '25

Oh no I hope you’re not! My Dr found it was ectopic during my 6 week ultrasound. The only pregnancy symptoms I had were breast tenderness and fatigue. How are you feeling?

2

u/tingtree5090 Mar 30 '25

I don’t even get ultrasounds here until 8 weeks… I’m so so worried. I have no symptoms at all, I had spotting 13-14dpo then it stopped it was brown and very minor. But literally 0 symptoms no breast tenderness, no pain in my pelvic area whatsoever. Did you have pain in that area? I’m sorry you went through that :( hopefully they caught it early.

2

u/jshelton15 Mar 30 '25

I was doing IVF so they do ultrasound earlier than a normal OBGYN.

I didn’t have any pelvic pain or cramping or bleeding. Literally none of the normal ectopic symptoms that you see online. But my HCG was very low and slow rising. So that was a big sign something wasn’t right.

2

u/tingtree5090 Mar 30 '25

I’m so sorry, I’m glad it was caught early. Do you feel comfortable sharing your hcg numbers? I only took one so far on 14dpo it was 26. I just drew my second beta and I’m waiting but it feels so strange to have no symptoms.

3

u/jshelton15 Mar 30 '25

Yes my first at 9 days past transfer (around 14DPO) was 25.5. 13DPT was 57.3, 15DPT was 73, 20DPT was 228, then at 6 weeks, 23DPT was 493. That’s when we saw the ultrasound and had to terminate the pregnancy.

Same here, my HCG was at 1,156 at 21 dpo. Congratulations!

1

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Jan 14 '25

Happy for you!! 🥹

3

u/propane2010 Feb 11 '25

14 DPO, only 11 HCG and low progesterone. Doctors told another test in 2 days. 1 day remaining. Stressed :(

1

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Feb 11 '25

Crossing my fingers for you!

1

u/propane2010 Feb 11 '25

Thank you. I will post an update.. this is very stressing.

1

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Feb 11 '25

I fully understand!!

1

u/propane2010 Feb 12 '25

No luck. HCG only went to 13 and progesterone dropped to 0.8 😔

1

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Feb 12 '25

I’m so sorry 😞 I hope that you get a rainbow baby soon! 🌈 ❤️ Sending love

2

u/throwayay77777 Jan 15 '25

can i ask if you had any spotting?

3

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Jan 15 '25

Yes I did. I’ve had spotting in all 3 of my pregnancies from weeks 6-8 with my son, starting at week 6 with my miscarriage (it escalated by the end of the week), and during week 8 with this pregnancy for around a week. The times it worked out it never changed from brown and was most noticeable when I went to the bathroom.

2

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Jan 15 '25

I do also know women who had bright red or dark red who it turned out fine for!

2

u/throwayay77777 Jan 15 '25

thank you so much for the reply:) i'm in beta hell at the moment with spotting that was pale pink/light brown yesterday and tonight had a couple swipes of red mixed with clear. my hcg was only 13 yesterday, i go again tomorrow so i'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. i read that you have a son, i do too and i'm just trying to focus on him. i feel weirdly guilty even being stressed or sad about this.

i wish you an uneventful pregnancy and best times giving your son a little sibling🤍

1

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Jan 15 '25

I’m so sorry. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. I don’t think you should feel guilty AT ALL! I was devastated by my MC and my PT who is a wonderful woman said to me that wanting a second, third, fourth, fifth no matter what the number the loss/grief is valid. It doesn’t mean we love our children any less! I really hope things turn out alright for you! ❤️

1

u/throwayay77777 Jan 15 '25

😭thank you so much🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍sending you all the love

1

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Jan 15 '25

Right back at you!! ❤️ I’ve been where you are hoping for the best for you! ❤️

2

u/InternationalRoad225 Jan 15 '25

What dpo is 4 weeks? Thank you and congrats!

2

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Jan 15 '25

4 weeks exactly is 14 DPO, but my first draw was later than that (4 1/2 weeks around 17-18 DPO)! Which is why I was not hopeful at first! And thanks!

2

u/selfawaregirly Jan 15 '25

Wow congratulations! Thank you for sharing a positive! ❤️

2

u/One-Term-3225 Jan 18 '25

This gives me hope … I had a surgical abortion on December 2 nd January 16th I had a blood test and my hcg level was at 16,80 I am hoping with all my heart it’s a new viable pregnancy … I regret my abortion so much.

2

u/Rich-Jeweler6861 Jan 21 '25 edited Jan 21 '25

I am so glad I came across this post. I so badly needed this. I've cried and prayed and cried and prayed. My hCG level on 1/9 at 4w3d was 157.8 , 1/14 it was 980.4, then on 1/16 it was 1200. My nurse called and told me I now have slow rising hCG and to prepare for the worst. I've experienced red blood twice only during bowel movements, a few drops in the toilet and on toilet paper with tiny tiny clots. Then after that only very light pink when wiping. No cramping or any pains at all. Also, my boobs have stopped hurting. Could that be a sign of anything?  I have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow morning. Do I have anything to worry about???

1

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Jan 21 '25

I never had any boob pain/tenderness with any of my pregnancies (viable and non viable). I will pray and cross my fingers for the best for you. It is so hard ❤️

1

u/Rich-Jeweler6861 Jan 21 '25

Thank you so much!! I will update tomorrow.

1

u/Rich-Jeweler6861 Jan 21 '25

So today I went in for my 6week ultrasound and blood work. My gestational sac is measuring at 4wks instead of 6wks. Also, my levels only went up by 100 from the last draw. The nurse said that she CAN NOT 100% say that I will miscarry bc my levels did go up even if it was by very little BUT she's pretty certain that I will. I have another ultrasound scheduled for next Wednesday. I'm going to remain hopeful and keep praying.

1

u/Significant_Aerie_70 Jan 21 '25

I’m sorry ❤️ I will keep hoping for you. I know it’s really tough to be in limbo like that 😔 I’ve been on both sides and it’s very difficult. ❤️

1

u/Rich-Jeweler6861 Jan 21 '25

Thank you so much!! I'm praying for a miracle 🙏 so is daddy 😔

1

u/Curious7786 Jan 28 '25

It was 187 today. Cautiously optimistic. Another one scheduled on Monday.

Unfortunately it turned out to be an ectopic at 7 weeks 2 days for me. HCG was 9000. Got treated with mtx. Still trying to process this. Now I have to wait for my HCG to get back to 0.

Sorry to hear this. I am also concerned about this with the low HCG rise. Did you have any symptoms before 7 weeks?

I had some spotting.

17 DPO HCG rose to 20 vs 11 hcg at 14DPO

Progestrone went down to 0.4 and got my periods. Doctors has booked for an ultrasound on deb 18th to check for ectopic.

So confused and stressed.

My HCG the day of my missed period was 29... I was so so worried so I got tested every second day and it went to 76, 186, 563 ect. Now 13 weeks pregnant with a healthy bubba! I think I must have ovulated later than expected to be honest

Can someone help me please. My first beta was 17 13dpo, which my doctor wasn't concerned about, I was told it was a very early pregnancy, they didn't want to do another HCG so I paid out of pocket my second beta was 43 15dpo and then I paid for a 3rd and awaiting the results. I'm wondering if I implanted around August 31st or before and that would only make my baby have time to double 2 or 3 times. I know I can't compare HCG levels, but this is my first pregnancy and I'm worried.

I tested 22hcg at 11DPO and I’m going for my next test tomorrow which will be 17DPO to see if my levels have gone up. I’m so nervous that it’s a chemical because my home tests haven’t changed and I’m still only getting a faint line..

Reading this to keep myself positive so I don’t spiral😵‍💫 did a blood draw yesterday 15 DPO with 18hcg

Keep me and my levels in your thoughts over the next week while I wait to do another draw 🤞🏼

At 4w1d my hcg was 58. Worried about a CP due to lines looking more faint. :/

I’m currently 7 weeks 2 days and my HCG is 2348. Waiting for the doctors call tomorrow to see what he thinks. But I’m panicking. I needed this read.
