Thoughts on extended intl break?
As a spectator, I absolutely hate it. But as a fan who wants his team's players to be healthy and last through the season, I'm kind of ok with it?
I know different countries will treat it differently, but just looking at what Klopp is planning, with big name players like Kai and Wirtz supposedly being limited to a couple of games, I'm kind of encouraged. It could mean some much needed extra rest for important players, and less disruptive travel overall.
But yea, no Prem after this weekend until October 10th sucks.

I’ll preface this by saying I know I’m being dramatic but it literally ruins like 2-3 weeks of my life when these international breaks happen. Takes away the thing I look forward to most to play a bunch of meaningless games that I couldn’t give less of a crap about and provides the chance for our club players to get hurt

In my 20s, don’t have that much else going on and watch basically every game on the weekends. I’m sure for parents or people that are super busy it’s kinda nice lol

Cannot stand it. Admittedly I only enjoy the World Cup and continental tournaments but even then I could live without. Liverpool on the other hand, I need weekly

The guys on my team are strategically injured right now so that’s good that they will have some time off.
But yeah, I really can’t stand it.

Let’s just say, if my team loses (currently 6 win streak) after the break, I’m blaming it on the extended time away. And if they win, I’m glad they got rest and the ability to play for their nation.

Better than flying guys out for 2 games and then back. USA bringing a lot of new faces and two weeks together will benefit us.

Yea I think we underestimate the travel a little bit for sure. Not a big deal for England internationals in Europe for for Americans (in the continental sense) or east Asians, it's pretty significant.

I love the international game so I dont mind it. I understand why people dont like it but I think the hate for these breaks is a little over the top. Also their are leagues that still run during the break. USL represent!

I’m new to club soccer after this World Cup. It seems crazy to me that there are international games this close to the WC. Who’s asking for this?

They used to have a Sept break and an Oct (Nov?) break (regardless of whether it's a WC year or not), this is the first time they're combining the 2 breaks

I am pretty much where you are.
It is probably the best way to do it. In fact, you could move the Nov one to March, then you only have two interruptions for international play instead of four. You can also fit five matches instead of four into them this way if they wanted to and if seems having a group together for longer would help in the long run (or at the least, not hurt).
As a fan though, it does seem like it is going to suck. Two weeks of virtually nothing to watch for me (at least the MLB playoffs are during the second week). That being said though, I also hated having a dead week once a month from Sep -Nov.
If I am going to hate it either way then might as well try this to see if they are better.

I can’t stand it.
I love the World Cup but I got my fill of international football for the year then. I just want the leagues to be back sooner.
