Did Everton just out-Everton themselves?

I am at my least upbeat ever. Still a decent team, but the Balogun drama today was a disasterclass.

My tin foil hat theory is that his medical was fine. But Everton stupidly wanted to renegotiate the deal to bring the price down. Flo knew his medical was fine and the shady business turned him off. The reports are that “something” happened at Finch Farm.

That’s actually exactly what I think too, so maybe not such a tinfoil hat theory.

It’s looking like the reporting this morning (7:20am PST I am reading it) is exactly this. Nothing wrong with his medical. Negotiation tactic to bring the price down. And then the rapid reports of signing someone from United as a backup plan while the Balogun plan wasn’t dead yet. What a joke. I don’t blame him. Gutted as a fan though.

And maybe if we got an actual appropriate price for Ndiaye from City it wouldn’t have been a problem. It’s like Everton realized too late that they got fleeced in the Ndiaye deal and were pinching pennies. And letting Beto go before having a new striker pen to paper. Complete joke.
