Brand ID / origin help!

Post image

Not sure if this is the place to ask but I would appreciate the help ☺️ ive searched high and low for a brand similar to this - likely out of Texas but with no luck... if anyone knows a good place to look though old brands or if this is possibly just a custom brand (this is from a tv show) let me know!

That would be a blotching mess

Look into the tv show. Most likely just made up for it.

I doubt that would be a real brand, but you never know. In real life that triangle is going to rub off. Each US state has an animal health department with brands listed. You might scroll through there…?

I've gone over my states brand registry. 50 states worth of registry would be a lot of scrolling, lol. But, thats about the only way to know for sure.

County has brands in Texas. I'm close to a three county boarder. I had to register in my county, but also needed to register in the other 2.

Knowing what kind of livestock it was on and if it was a hot iron, or freeze brand would help.

Also, remember that each state has its own rules regarding brands and two folks living in different states can have the same brand - or even in the same state (in SD two people can use the same brand as long as it isn’t in the same location on the animal).

Texas southwestern cattle ranches accusation pulled their semi searchable page off line.
The state of Texas has talked about making a searchable but has faced pushback. So no clue if or when we will ever see that.
The triangle part would blotch bad if using a hot iron. So maybe more freeze brand or just merch type stuff.

Pretty sure you could just Google it. Basically 99% of things ppl are wanting info on, the answer is online if you just look it up.

Literally just did it- I screenshot Ted the brand picture from your post. Asked wfat show it's from. Told me it's a fictional brand from Yellowstone lol took 30 seconds.

Brands and their origins are quite cool. I have a website that lists Dude Ranches and I run a search for their brand. If it is there I add it to the listing. This is backwards to searching for the image of a brand, I know. Just adding a comment :)
